Report: Madonna’s manager in lead for “Idol” gig.

While Howard Stern continues to bask in rumors that he’s in contention for the judge opening on Fox TV’s “American Idol,” a new report says Madonna's right-hand man Guy Oseary is the top choice to replace Simon Cowell.

"Guy has been in the music business since Madonna discovered him when he was 17, and he has a lot of the same experience as Simon," a Fox insider tells the New York Daily News.

Meanwhile, 64% of respondents in an Access Hollywood poll say Stern replacing Cowell is not a good idea as the Sirius XM morning man is too risqué for “American Idol” audiences.  Stern’s lucrative five-year deal with the satcaster expires in December.
