Al Kenyon
Veteran radio engineer Al Kenyon joins the Federal Emergency Management Agency as a program analyst.  He’ll work on developing the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS).  Kenyon was SVP of projects and technology for Clear Channel from 1999 to 2003, prior to that he was VP of engineering for Jacor.


 
Randy Scott, Alana Lynn
Peak Broadcasting’s “Wow Country 104.3” KAWO, Boise names Randy Scott and Alana Lynn as its new morning team.  Scott most recently worked at CBS Radio’s KMPS, Seattle and Lynn most recently worked at Alpha Broadcasting’s KUPL, Portland.
 
 



 
Tom Vorpahl
Starboard Media Foundation names Tom Vorpahl as chairman of the Relevant Radio board of directors.  He’s been on the Catholic broadcaster’s board since 2006 and has been CEO since June 2008.  He succeeds Bill Raaths, who remains a board member.


 
Laura Lucia, Ebony Wilder, Caroline Rana
Strauss Radio Strategies adds three new members to its team.  Laura Lucia and Ebony Wilder joined as assistant account executives.  Caroline Rana is the new office manager.



 
Marty Kaiser
Journal Communications promotes Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editor Marty Kaiser to VP of parent Journal Communications.  Journal owns 33 radio stations.
 



 
Charles Herman
New York Public Radio WNYC hires Charles Herman as its business and economics editor.  Herman spent the last 15 years with ABC News, most recently overseeing the network’s business news unit.
 

 
 
Will Pfaffenberger
Entercom’s Indianapolis cluster hires Will Pfaffenberger as producer for “Z-99.5” WZPL’s morning show.  He previously worked on the “Bob & Tom Show” for three years and at “Hank FM.”
 


Jeff Chardell
Newsweb Radio’s WCPT, Chicago (820) interim-GM/DOS Jeff Chardell resigns.  He’d been filling the slot left by Harvey Wells, who exited in February.  
 


    
Dave Stilli
Qantum Communications hires Dave Stilli as market manager of its Ft. Walton Beach/Destin, Florida stations.  He most recently was director of advertiser advisory services for the Qantum cluster in Brunswick, GA.
 



Phil Wilson 
Greater Media announces Dial Global's Phil Wilson will serve as Affiliate Sales Representative of the company's nationally syndicated “Bob & Sheri” and “Matt & Ramona” shows, as well as Dial Global's “Cooper Lawrence Show.”   Wilson, who will continue to work on behalf of Dial Global, previously served as a media/marketing consultant and managed the daily operations of CBS Radio/Minneapolis and Waitt Radio/Omaha.  In addition, the radio veteran has served as PD at Journal Radio’s KZFX, Omaha and KGGO, Des Moines. 
 



Jon Meterparel
Five year Boston College Football play-by-play announcer John Meterparel will add similar duties for B.C.’s men’s basketball.  Boston College games are produced by ISP Radio Network. Meterparel extends his contract with ISP for another three years.
 


Dennis Mockler

Monticello Media’s Charlottesville, VA market manager Dennis Mockler exits after more than two years with the cluster. Mockler previously worked in Illinois.


Joseph Tovares

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has named Joseph Tovares, senior vice president for diversity and innovation. Tovares has been acting vice president since December and was responsible for overseeing the implementation of the NPS/Diversity and Innovation fund agreement for CPB. Prior to his work at CPB, Tovares worked at public broadcasting stations in Boston, San Antonio, Austin and Lexington, KY.


Wendy Wild

Clear Channel’s rhythmic CHR WKTU, New York (103.5) promotes weekend personality Wendy Wild to midday host, replacing Diane Prior, who exited earlier this year. Wild has been with WKTU and sister CHR "Z-100" WHTZ since 2006. She is also heard on "KC-101" WKCI, New Haven, CT and "The All New 95.1" KSYU, Albuquerque.


Dick Biondi

On May 2, 2010, Dick Biondi, the legendary hall of fame Chicago personality, will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first broadcast on WLS-AM. In honor of this occasion, Dick will host a special broadcast on 94.7 WLS-FM on Sunday, May 2 from 7p-12a. The broadcast will also be simulcast on WLS-AM 890 and will feature stories and highlights from his career, along with some special guests. Biondi began his broadcasting career in New York at station WCBA. He moved to Chicago in 1960 where he worked at WLS. In early 1963, he was the first DJ in America to play the Beatles. Dick Biondi was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in and the Radio Wing of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.


Kathy Brown

Radio One’s Washington, DC ops manager Kathy Brown exits. She also served as PD of urban AC "Majic 102.3" WMMJ. She’d been with Radio One since 1996. Urban "Kiss" WKYS PD Neke Howze oversee her duties until a successor is hired.



Gregg Cassidy

Wilks Broadcasting names Gregg Cassidy as ops manager for its three Denver stations, including hot AC KIMN, country "The Wolf" KWOF and olides KXKL. He previously programmed KIMN before Wilks bought the cluster from CBS Radio in late 2008. The cluster also hires former KYGO, Denver morning co-host Steve "Mudflap" McGrew for morning duties on KWOF alongside host Jonathan Wilde. The two previously worked together at KYGO.


Rob Stearns

Big League Broadcasting’s 790 The Zone in Atlanta has hired Rob Stearns as Senior Account Manager. Stearns spent 24 years with Lincoln Financial's STAR-94 in Atlanta.



Maire Mason

Univision names Maire Mason as director of sales for its New York cluster. She former was a manager for CBS Radio’s New York stations.


Bruce St. James

Bonneville’s news/talk KTAR-FM, Phoenix (92.3) names Bruce St. James as its new late-morning (9am-12noon) timeslot. He recently programmed CBS Radio stations in the market. KTAR-FM also hires former Chicago newsman Bob Shomper as its APD/news director.


Mason and Remy

Clear Channel country "93.7 The Bull" KSD-FM, St. Louis names Mason and Remy as its new marooning show.


Christopher Ornelas

The National Association of Broadcasters names Christopher Ornelas as executive vice president and chief strategy officer effective May 10. Ornelas was an attorney in NAB president/CEO Gordon Smith’s Senate office and most recently worked in the Washington offices of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, focusing his practice on telecommunications and technology policy.


Chris Plante, Fred Grandy

Citadel’s WMAL, Washington (630) re-launches its morning line-up, shifting late-morning talk show host Chris Plante to morning drive alongside Fred Grandy. Former morning host Andy Parks exits.


David Keiser

Emmis names David Keiser as the new sales director for its St. Louis four-station operation. He most recently was local sales manager for Cox Radio’s WSB, Atlanta (750). Keiser previously worked in St. Louis from 1990-2005.


Jules Riley

Folger Media hires veteran St. Louis programmer Jules Riley as a media consultant. Riley is best known for her stint as programmer for Bonneville’s adult hits "The Arch" WARH, St. Louis (106.5). In addition to her time in St. Louis, Riley has also programmed in Philadelphia, Wilkes Barre-Scranton, Wichita, Topeka and West Virginia.


Tim Russell

After 33 years at WCCO, Minneapolis, station entertainment editor Tim Russell announces he’s taken a "generous buyout" from CBS Radio. Russell says he’ll continue to work for American Public Media’s Garrison Keillor.


Douglas Johnston

Premiere Radio Networks promotes Douglas Johnston to Senior Vice President of Sales, Central Region. Based in Chicago, Johnston will continue to report to Premiere EVP of Sales Carol Terakawa.


Jim Vicevich

CBS Radio’s news/talk WTIC, Hartford (1080) welcomes back talk show host Jim Vicevich to late-mornings. He left last month after failing to reach a deal on a new contract.
