Al Kenyon
Veteran radio engineer Al Kenyon joins the Federal Emergency Management Agency as a program analyst. He’ll work on developing the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). Kenyon was SVP of projects and technology for Clear Channel from 1999 to 2003, prior to that he was VP of engineering for Jacor.
Randy Scott, Alana Lynn
Peak Broadcasting’s “Wow Country 104.3” KAWO, Boise names Randy Scott and Alana Lynn as its new morning team. Scott most recently worked at CBS Radio’s KMPS, Seattle and Lynn most recently worked at Alpha Broadcasting’s KUPL, Portland.
Tom Vorpahl
Starboard Media Foundation names Tom Vorpahl as chairman of the Relevant Radio board of directors. He’s been on the Catholic broadcaster’s board since 2006 and has been CEO since June 2008. He succeeds Bill Raaths, who remains a board member.
Laura Lucia, Ebony Wilder, Caroline Rana
Strauss Radio Strategies adds three new members to its team. Laura Lucia and Ebony Wilder joined as assistant account executives. Caroline Rana is the new office manager.
Marty Kaiser
Journal Communications promotes Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editor Marty Kaiser to VP of parent Journal Communications. Journal owns 33 radio stations.
Charles Herman
New York Public Radio WNYC hires Charles Herman as its business and economics editor. Herman spent the last 15 years with ABC News, most recently overseeing the network’s business news unit.
Will Pfaffenberger
Entercom’s Indianapolis cluster hires Will Pfaffenberger as producer for “Z-99.5” WZPL’s morning show. He previously worked on the “Bob & Tom Show” for three years and at “Hank FM.”
Jeff Chardell
Newsweb Radio’s WCPT, Chicago (820) interim-GM/DOS Jeff Chardell resigns. He’d been filling the slot left by Harvey Wells, who exited in February.
Dave Stilli
Qantum Communications hires Dave Stilli as market manager of its Ft. Walton Beach/Destin, Florida stations. He most recently was director of advertiser advisory services for the Qantum cluster in Brunswick, GA.
Phil Wilson
Greater Media announces Dial Global's Phil Wilson will serve as Affiliate Sales Representative of the company's nationally syndicated “Bob & Sheri” and “Matt & Ramona” shows, as well as Dial Global's “Cooper Lawrence Show.” Wilson, who will continue to work on behalf of Dial Global, previously served as a media/marketing consultant and managed the daily operations of CBS Radio/Minneapolis and Waitt Radio/Omaha. In addition, the radio veteran has served as PD at Journal Radio’s KZFX, Omaha and KGGO, Des Moines.
Jon Meterparel
Five year Boston College Football play-by-play announcer John Meterparel will add similar duties for B.C.’s men’s basketball. Boston College games are produced by ISP Radio Network. Meterparel extends his contract with ISP for another three years.
