Derek Madden named PD at KLOS.
Cumulus Media’s classic rock KLOS, Los Angeles (95.5) has found its next program director inside the company. Derek Madden, who has programmed classic rock “107.7 The Bone” KSAN, San Francisco for the past two years, will take over similar duties at KLOS. The station has been without a PD since Jack Silver exited KLOS in June 2012. Ten-year assistant PD Bill Huning had been overseeing the rocker since then, but his position at KLOS has been eliminated.
“San Francisco's been my home for 12 years. It was always going to take something pretty special for me to leave, and now I've found it,” says Madden, who also hosted afternoon drive on KSAN. Before programming “The Bone,” he programmed modern rock KSJO, San Jose (92.3); was music director at hot AC “Alice @ 97.3” KLLC, and he spent nearly a decade as an air personality at modern rock “Live 105” KITS. Madden previously worked in the Lexington, KY; Augusta, GA and Ithaca, NY.
Cumulus San Francisco operations manager Bill Pugh will take over programming duties at KSAN.
