Jacksonville, FL – Radio Training Network files a $2.25 million deal to buy contemporary Christian WCRJ (88.1) from the Delmarva Educational Association. Radio Training Network will operate WCRJ under a local marketing agreement until closing. Once the deal is finalized the Delmarva Educational Association will still own religious “The Truth” affiliates WTRJ-FM (91.7) and WAYL (91.9) in the Jacksonville market.

Alabama – John Kennedy’s Lake Broadcasting files a $150,000 deal to buy talk/sports WFEB, Sylacauga, AL (1340) from Powers Broadcasting Company. The deal includes the Sylacauga, AL-licensed translator W265DV at 100.9 FM. Lake Broadcasting already owns “Kowaliga Country 97.5” WKGA in the area. It will operate WFEB under a time brokerage agreement until closing.

Iowa – Sound in Spirit Broadcasting files a $150,000 deal to buy religious KMDY, Keokuk, IA (90.9) from Cornerstone Community Radio. The deal also includes the Quincy, IL-licensed translator W209CH at 89.7 FM. Sound in Spirit Broadcasting already owns religious “Lift FM 88.3” KQLF in Ottumwa, IA. Once the sale closes Cornerstone Community Radio will still own six stations in Illinois.

Oklahoma – Belma Raquel Diaz’s Sair Communications files a $40,000 deal to buy KOCD, Okeene, OK (101.5) from Libertad En Cristo Ministries. KOCD is a construction permit for a Class C2 FM covering an area to the northwest of Oklahoma City. Once the deal closes Libertad En Cristo Ministries will still own Spanish-language religious KLEC, Liberal, KS (90.5).

Nashville – Hoyt Carter files a $500 deal to buy religious “Christian Talk 1360” WNAH from Jo Ann Irvin Hermitage Broadcasting. The deal doesn’t include WNAH’s tower which Carter will continue to lease from Hermitage Broadcasting. Carter has worked at WNAH since 1962, most recently as its general manager.


Pittsburgh & West Palm Beach – Educational Media Foundation files to swap the West Palm, FL-licensed W215CL at 90.9 FM to Family Stations. Once the swap closes EMF will still own contemporary Christian “K-Love” affiliate WFLV (90.7) in the West Palm Beach market as well as the West Palm Beach-licensed translator W284CR at 104.7 FM. The translator carries its Christian CHR “Air1” network. In exchange for giving up its second translator in the West Palm Beach market, EMF will acquire a translator in the Pittsburgh market from Family Stations. It gets the West View, PA-licensed W249BD at 97.7 FM. EMF already owns “K-Love” affiliate WPKV (98.3) and WMKF (106.9) in the Pittsburgh market. The new translator would give it a signal to broadcast the “Air1” network currently airing as an HD2 channel on WPKV. No cash is changing hands as part of the swap.

Gainesville-Ocala, FL – JVC Media files a $150,000 deal to buy the Ocala, FL-licensed translator W261BA at 100.1 FM from JVC Media plans to use the signal to simulcast country “US-102.3” WXUS.

Idaho – Kent Fransden’s Sandhill Media files a $35,000 deal to buy the Saint Anthony, ID-licensed translator K261BD at 100.1 FM from Ted Austin’s Snake River Radio. Sandhill Media plans to use the translator to relay classic hits “Arrow 107” KQEO, Idaho Falls.

Orlando – Genesis Communications files to transfer the Kissimmee, FL-licensed translator W284DM at 104.7 FM to Immaculate Heart Media. It’s an add-on to the recently closed deal between the two companies. Immaculate Heart Media in recent weeks closed a $1.515 million deal to buy WAMT (1190) and WHOO (1080) from Genesis Communications. Both stations now carry its religious “Relevant Radio” format and the filing says the translator will simulcast WHOO. Broker: Kalil


Minnesota – Real Presence Radio closes a $450,000 deal to buy religious “Real Presence Radio” KQAQ, Austin, MN (970) from Hometown Broadcasting. The deal includes the Austin, MN-licensed translator K232FY at 94.3 FM. Real Presence Radio has other stations in the region but KQAQ will become its first in southern Minnesota. Hometown Broadcasting has a pending $750,000 deal to sell its other station in the area— classic rock “Power 96” KQPR, Albert Lea, MN—to K&M Broadcasting.

Oklahoma & Texas – In an intra-family deal Will Payne closes a $365,000 deal to buy country “K-95.5” KITX, Hugo, OK from Gail Payne. The deal also includes three FM translators. They include the Antlers, OK-licensed K235AW at 94.9 FM; the Durant, OK-licensed K280GD at 103.9 FM; and the Paris, TX-licensed K286AV at 105.1 FM.

Long Island, NY – Cantico Nuevo Ministry closes a $350,000 deal to buy ethnic WLIM (1580) from Polnet Communications. Cantico Nuevo Ministry already owns Spanish-language religious “Radio Cantico Nuevo” WNYG (1440) in the Nassau-Suffolk market and it operates WNYH (740) under a lease agreement with Win Radio Broadcasting. It also owns the Medford, NY-licensed translator W295CK at 106.9 FM which relays WNYG. Polnet still owns six stations including ethnic Polish WRKL (910) in the nearby Hudson Valley, NY market. Indiana – Matthew Moore and Brent Lee’s Spoon River Media closes a $237,000 deal to buy country “96.7 The Eagle” WCOE and adult standards WLOI (1540) in La Porte, IN from La Porte County Broadcasting. In Jan. 2017 La Porte County Broadcasting filed for chapter 11 protections and the bankruptcy court has already approved the sale. Spoon River Media also owns adult hits “Q-98.1” WILP in Cuba, IL. North Carolina – Rick and Margaret Loesch’s East Carolina Radio closes a $150,000 deal to buy “Classic Rock 104.9” WFMZ, Hertford, NC from Max Broadcast Holdings. East Carolina Radio already owns five stations in the Inner Banks region including classic hits “102.5 The Shark” WERX-FM, country “Dixie 105.7” WRSF, urban “96.7 The Block” WKJX, and “Classic Country 1240-1260” WCNC/WZBO. The sale leaves Max Broadcast Group Holdings with two stations: adult alternative “99.1 The Sound” WVOD and “Classic Rock 92.3” WZPR in Nags Head, NC.

New Orleans – Providence Educational Foundation closes a $100,000 deal to buy contemporary Christian “Speak Hope Radio” WGON (91.3) from the Crisis Pregnancy Help Center of Slidell Under the terms of the deal the buyer also agrees to broadcast four, :30-second underwriting announcements per day for two years promoting the seller’s pregnancy care services. Providence Educational Foundation already owns contemporary Christian “Life Songs” affiliate WBSN-FM (89.1) in the New Orleans market.

Kentucky – Faron Sparkman’s Leslie County Broadcasting closes a deal to transfer his 50% stake in CHR WKIC, Hyden, KY (97.9) to Kimberly Sparkman and Stuart Sparkman. The transfer is valued at $10.
