Wisconsin – Bryan Mazur files a $1.5 million deal to buy adult standards WBDK, Algoma, WI (96.7); adult hits “102.1 More FM” WRKU, Forestville, WI; country WRLU, Algoma, WI (104.1); and classic country WSBW, Ephraim, WI (105.1) from Roger Utnehmer’s Nicolet Broadcasting. The sale also includes the Sturgeon Bay, WI-licensed translator W277BP at 103.3 FM. It simulcasts WSBW. Mazur is the sales manager for the four-station group. Utnehmer is retiring after 42 years working in Wisconsin radio.

Greenville-Spartanburg, SC – Radio Training Network files an $850,000 deal to buy regional Mexican “Activa Network” outlet WTOB-FM (103.9) from TBLC Media. Once the sale closes, TBLC Media will still own WOLI (910) in the Greenville-Spartanburg market. Broker: Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage.

North Carolina – Jeffrey Andrulonis’ Colonial Radio Group files a $230,000 deal to buy country “106.3 The Dude” WUDE, Bolivia, NC from Tom Davis’ Local Voice Media. After the sale closes, among the stations Local Voice Media will still own in the region is WUDE’s simulcast “93.7 The Dude” WNTB in the Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville, NC market. Indiana – Star Educational Media Network files a $40,000 deal to buy the currently-silent WEAX, Angola, IN (88.3) from Trine University. Star Educational Media Network already owns three full-power FMs and six FM translators in Indiana which simulcast Fort Wayne, IN market contemporary Christian “Star 88.3” WLAB.

Idaho – Tu Voz files a $15,000 deal to buy Spanish-language “Radio Voz” KBWE, Burley, ID (91.9) from Idaho Community Action Network.


Georgia – Educational Media Foundation files a $410,000 deal to buy the Marietta, GA-licensed W222AF at 92.3 FM and the Lithia Springs, GA-licensed W223BP at 92.5 FM from Immanuel Broadcasting Network. The signals will relay contemporary Christian “K-Love” affiliate WAKL Atlanta (106.7). Broker: Eddie Esserman, Media Services Group

New Hampshire – Saga Communications files a $200,000 deal to buy the Manchester, NH-licensed translator W295BL at 106.9 FM from Jeff Shapiro. Saga will use the signal to simulcast the classic country “The Outlaw” format off the HD-3 channel of AC WZID (95.7). The format is already simulcasting on the Concord, NH-licensed W267BJ at 103.1 FM. Broker: Michael Bergner


Orlando – JVC Media closes on a $900,000 deal to buy talk “Florida Man Radio” WDYZ (660) from Salem Media Group. The deal also includes the Oviedo, FL-licensed translator W288CJ at 105.5 FM. The acquisition gives JVC Media a second station in the Orlando market where it already owns country “103.1 The Wolf” WOTW. Salem still owns three stations in the area including talk”950 The Answer” WORL, religious “The Word” WTLN (950), and business news “1520 The Biz” WBZW in the Orlando market. Broker: Doyle Hadden

Idaho & Wyoming – Magic Valley Media closes a $475,000 deal to buy four full-power stations and one FM translator from Rich Broadcasting, which has been in bankruptcy since late-2016. Magic Valley Media buys AC “Star 107.5” KYZK, classic rock KECH-FM (95.3), adult alternative KSKI-FM (94.5) in the Twin Falls-Sun Valley market. The deal also includes the Ketchum, ID-licensed translator K276DW at 103.1 FM. Also beyond the market limits, Magic Valley Media picks up news-talk KOUW (102.9) in nearby Island Park, ID. A group of stations owned by Rich Broadcasting in the Jackson, WY aren’t included in the sale. Rich Broadcasting has been in chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and overseen by trustee Mark Hasimoto since March 2017. The sale amounts to a restructuring since Magic Valley Media is a partnership among Richard Mecham (who’ll hold a 55% stake), Stephen Hawes (15%), Trevor Larsen(15%) and Stephen Mecham (15%)—all of whom had also been equity holders in Rich Broadcasting.

Florida – The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Media closes a $279,000 deal to buy regional Mexican “La Numero Uno 106.9” WZZS, Zolfo Springs, FL from Solmart Media. Lake Erie College already owns oldies “LECOM Radio 1220” WRSQ in the Sarasota-Bradenton, FL market and like that station WZZS will be converted to a noncommercial outlet. Solmart Media still owns regional Mexican “La Zeta 105.3” WZSP and regional Mexican WTMY (1280) in the region.

Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol, TN – Kenneth Hill’s Information Communications closes a $95,000 deal to buy gospel “Sonshine 79” WETB from Mountain Signals. The deal also includes the Johnson City, TN-licensed translator W229DH at 93.7 FM. Information Communications also owns three stations in the market including classic country “The Possum” WPWT (870) and the contemporary Christian simulcast of WHGG (1090) and WABN (1230).

Minnesota – Subarctic Media files a $71,000 deal to buy classic rock KHRS, Winthrop, MN (105.9) from Ketelsen Radio. Subarctic Media is a newly-created partnership between David Linder and Matthew and Lynn Ketelsen. Linder Radio Group already owns a dozen stations in the region.
