Louisville – Rebecca and Brent Schepman’s Social Butterfly Media files a $400,000 deal to buy classic rock “Radio 96.3” WJAA from Midland Media. Social Butterfly Media doesn’t own any other stations.
Fort Wayne, IN – Brian Walsh files a $50,000 deal to buy WGL (1250) from Adams Radio Group. Walsh already owns “Oldies 101.1” WIOE in the Fort Wayne market. The deal also includes the Fort Wayne, IN-licensed translator W233CS at 94.5 FM. Once the sale closes, Adams Radio Group will still own four stations in the market including country “US -93.3” WBTU, CHR “Hot 107.9” WJFX, classic rock WXKE (96.3), and adult hits “103.9 Wayne FM” WWFW.
Texas – Terry and Kay Slavens’ For The Love of The Game Broadcasting files a $10,000 deal to buy country “K-Lakes 93.5” KLXK and country KROO, Breckenridge, TX (1430) in Breckenridge, TX; classic rock KWKQ (94.7) and country KSWA (1330) in Graham, TX from High Plains Radio Network. The Love of The Game Broadcasting already owns classic hits KATX Eastland, TX (97.7) and country KWBY-FM Ranger, TX (98.5).
Michigan – Smile FM files a $1,500 deal to buy variety WSJH, Hubbardston, MI (103.7) from Hubbardston Community Radio. The station will begin carrying Smile FM’s contemporary Christian format.
Raleigh-Durham, NC – PMC Broadcasting files a $20 deal to buy urban “Hot 97.9” WAUG from St. Augustine's College. The deal includes the New Hope, NC-licensed W278CT at 103.5 FM.
Albuquerque, NM – El Camino Communications files to donate Spanish contemporary Christian “El Camino 1310” KKNS to the Navajo Nation. The tribe owns four other full-power stations – including country KTNN-FM, Tohatchi, NM (101.5) – but none overlaps with KKNS.
SALES – TRANSLATORS
Pennsylvania – Kristin Cantrell’s Seven Mountains Media files a $100,000 deal to buy the Muncy, PA-licensed translator W234AC at 94.7 FM from Family Life Ministries. The filing says Seven Mountains Media plans to buy sports WLYC, Williamsport, PA (1050) and simulcast it on the new translator.
Houston –Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna transfers three Houston-licensed FM translators to SDK Franco LLC. The signals include K218EJ at 91.5, K223CW at 92.5 FM; and K287BQ at 105.3. Each of the translators simulcasts from HD subchannels of Urban One stations in the market.
Orlando – Salem Media Group closes a deal to sell business news “1520 The Biz” WBZW to Sam Rogatinsky for $185,000. The deal also includes the Apopka, FL-licensed translator W264DU at 100.7 FM. Rogatinsky already owns WTPA (1590) in the Tampa market and ethnic WPBR (1340) in the West Palm Beach, FL market. Salem still owns religious “990 The Word” WTLN and talk “950 The Answer” WORL in Orlando market. Last year it sold what is now Orlando’s talk “Florida Man Radio” WDYZ (660) and the Oviedo, FL-licensed translator W288CJ at 105.5 FM to JVC Media for $900,000. Illinois – The Covenant Network closes a $47,000 deal to buy the currently-silent WQNA, Springfield, IL (88.3) from Capital Area Vocational Center. The station has gone silent and it will return with a religious format. The Covenant Network already owns two FM translators in the market including the Springfield, IL-licensed W205BG at 88.9 FM and the Springfield, IL-licensed W258EDX at 104.9 FM.
