Lafayette, IN – Mike Reed and Bill Christian’s Coastal Television Broadcasting Group has filed a $36.9 million deal to buy adult hits “95.3 Bob-FM” WBPE, country “Y-95” WYCM, CHR “Z-96.5” WAZY and talk “The Patriot” WSHY (1410) from Star City Broadcasting. The deal also includes the Lafayette, IN-licensed translator W282CJ at 104.3 which simulcast WSHY. The radio deal is part of a larger deal that also includes seven low-power television stations including WBPI-LD and WPBY-LD in Lafayette, IN; WNBJ-LD in Jackson, TN: and KJNB-LD and KJNE-LD in Jonesboro, AR – along with construction permits for two additional LPTVs in Jonesboro. The deal also includes a centralized NewsHub in Little Rock and the Nulogic Digital Marketing Agency. Broker: Kalil

Palm Springs, CA – Iglesia Pentecostal Vispera Del Fin has filed a $500,000 deal to buy oldies “CV-104.3” KHCV from Sunnylands Broadcasting. The deal also includes the Indio, CA-licensed translator K226BT at 93.1 FM. The translator currently simulcasts rhythmic CHR KGAY Palm Springs (1270) but Sunnylands has a pending deal to sell that station to Brad Fuhr. Sunnylands will hold a $450,000 promissory note in the KHCV deal. Iglesia Pentecostal Vispera Del Fin has begun operating KHCV under a local marketing agreement until closing. It is the Spanish-language religious broadcaster’s first station in California. Broker: MCH Enterprises

Terre Haute, IN – Educational Media Foundation has filed a $334,000 deal to buy classic country “95.9 The Legend” WVIG from David Crooks’ DLC Media. EMF currently does not own any stations in the Terre Haute market and is expected to put its contemporary Christian “K-Love” format on WVIG. Once the sale closes, DLC Media will still own rock “92.7 The Rock” WFNB, adult hits “105.5 Jack FM” WZJK, oldies “Super Hits 104.9” WAXI, and adult standards “Timeless Classics” WAMB (1130) in the market.

Wyoming – Kairos Communications has filed a $160,750 deal to buy adult hits “105.1 Jack FM” KTUG-FM, Hudson, WY from Morcom Broadcasting. The sale includes a $145,750 promissory note. Riverton, WY-based Kairos Communications currently owns the County 10 News online news website which covers the region.

Huntsville, AL – Steve Sudbury and Louis Anzek’s Fun Media Group of North Alabama has filed an $85,000 deal to buy religious WKZD (1310) from Somerville Baptist Church. The deal also includes the Priceville, AL-licensed translator W285EN at 104.9 FM. Fun Media Group already owns classic hits “Fun 92.7” WAFN, classic country WRAB (1380) in Arab, AL and oldies “Fun Radio” WTNK, Hartsville, TN (1090).

Wyoming & South Dakota – Tri State Communications has filed a $80,243 deal to buy the farm/talk simulcast of KYDT, Pine Haven, WY (103.1) and KBFS, Belle Fourche, SD (1450) from Karl and Maggie Grimmelmann’s Ultimate Caps. Tri State Communications is a local group of investors including Ogden Driskill, Tyler Lindholm and Andrea Wood. The deal is entirely seller-financed.


Ohio & Kentucky – Educational Media Foundation has closed a $7,107,000 deal to buy contemporary Christian “K-Love” affiliates WNLT, Delhi Hills, OH (104.3); WKLN, Wilmington, OH (102.3), and WVRB, Wilmore, KY (95.3) from Baldwin Broadcasting. The deal includes a $5.5 million promissory note. EMF has been airing its “K-Love” format on WNLT and WVRB since 2000 and on WKLN since 2003. Vernon Baldwin still owns talk/sports “1450 The Ticket” WMOH and gospel/religious WCNW (1560) in the Cincinnati market.

Michigan – Michael Chires and Norman L McKee’s Black Diamond Broadcast Group has closed a $500,000 deal to buy hot AC WCFX, Clare, MI (95.3) from Grenax Broadcasting. Black Diamond Broadcast Group already owns nine stations in the Traverse City-Petoskey-Cadillac, MI region but only classic hits WUPS, Harrison, MI (98.5) will overlap with WCFX.

Texas – Educational Media Foundation has closed a $225,000 deal to buy rhythmic CHR “Z-97.7” KAGZ, Burke, TX from E-String Wireless. The deal includes the Lufkin, TX-licensed translator K240EO at 95.9 FM. And the Nacogdoches, TX-licensed translator at 97.3 FM. Educational Media Foundation is expected to put its contemporary Christian “K-Love” format on the signals.

Texas – SportsRadioCC has closed a $70,000 deal to buy Spanish Christian “Radio Cristiana” KLDS (1260) from Radio Cantico Nuevo. SportsRadioCC already owns “Sportsradio Corpus Christi 1230” KSIX in the Corpus Christi, TX market. It is a partnership among Bill Doerner (51%), Valerie Smith (34%) and Larry Roberts (15%).
