Multistate Deal – Immaculate Heart Media files an $8,731,125 deal to buy nine full-power stations and four FM translators from Salem Media Group. The deal includes Spanish religious “Radio Luz 1440” KTNO, Dallas; business news “Business 1110” KTEK, Houston; business news “Biz 1190” WAFS, Atlanta; business news “Money Talk 1690” KDMT, Denver; talk “Freedom 1160” KRDY, San Antonio; Spanish religious “Radio Luz 1150” WWDJ, Boston; talk “1380 The Answer” KXFN and gospel “Praise 1260” WSDZ in St. Louis; and religious “1220 The Word” WHKZ, Youngstown-Warren, OH. The deal also includes four FM translators including the Houston, TX-licensed K241CM at 96.1 FM; St. Louis, MO-licensed K236CS at 95.1 FM; the St. Louis, MO-licensed K287BY at 105.3 FM; and the Youngstown, OH-licensed W298CX at 107.5 FM. Once the sale closes Salem will continue to own stations in each of the markets. Immaculate Heart Media previously acquire Salem stations in Washington, Miami and Tampa. Combined, the series of deals brings the total number of stations changing hands between the two broadcasters to 14 AM stations and seven FM translators, for a combined total of $17.7 million. With its latest additions Immaculate Heart Media’s “Relevant Radio” network will be heard in all top ten markets, and 22 of the top 25 markets. Broker: Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage

Kansas City – The University of Missouri files a $2 million deal to buy the currently-silent KWJC (91.9) from William Jewel College. The University of Missouri already owns news-talk/classical KCUR-FM (89.3) in the Kansas City market and the second FM will allow it to split its music and talk programming onto dedicated signals. Pennsylvania – Seven Mountains Media files a $1.1 million deal to buy hot AC WSBG (93.5) and sports “ESPN 840” WVPO in Stroudsburg, PA from Connoisseur Media. The deal also includes the Stroudsburg, PA-licensed translator W276DG at 103.1 FM. Seven Mountains Media owns a number of other stations in Pennsylvania but none overlap with the latest additions. Connoisseur Media previously spun its stations in the nearby Allentown-Bethlehem, PA market to Cumulus Media as part of a cash-free swap.

Las Vegas – Educational Media Foundation files a $597,000 deal to buy KEKL (88.5) and KVKL (91.1) from Carl Auel. EMF had already been operating the two FMs under a local marketing agreement and they air its contemporary Christian “K-Love” network. EMF already owns contemporary Christian “Air1” affiliate KAER (89.3) in Las Vegas. Once the sale closes Auel will still own religious KKVV (1060) in the market. Broker: Rob Branch

Utah – David Barton files a $200,000 deal to buy classic country KNEU, Roosevelt, UT (1250) from Evans Broadcasting. The deal also includes the Roosevelt, UT-licensed translator K228FR at 93.5 FM. After the sale closes Joseph and Teddie Evans will still own adult hits “92.5 Jack FM” KCUA, Maeser, UT and AC “98.5 The Fox” KIFX, Naples, UT.

North Carolina – Jeffrey Jones and Glasgow Hicks’ Audiotraxx Media Partners files a $75,000 deal to buy AC “Lite Rock” WTXY, Whiteville, NC (1540) from Robert Kendall. The deal also includes the Whiteville, NC-licensed translator W280FO at 103.9 FM that gives 1,000-watt daytime-only WTXY a 24-hour signal. Audiotraxx Media Partners will operate the stations under a time brokerage agreement until closing.

Florida – Christian Radio Fellowship files a $50,000 deal to buy contemporary Christian WKWJ, Key West, FL (91.9) from Cornerstone Broadcasting. Christian Radio Fellowship currently owns religious WAFT (101.) in the Valdosta, GA market. Once the sale closes Cornerstone Broadcasting will still own three stations in the Daytona Beach, FL market. Broker: Fowler Media Consulting


Utah – Tri-Star Media files a $10,000 deal to buy the Greenville, UT-licensed translator K261EN at 100.1 FM in a bankruptcy court sale related to the chapter 7 liquidation of Community Translator Network. The filing says the translator will continue to simulcast Sanpete County Broadcasting’s talk/sports KMXD, Monroe, UT (100.5).

South Carolina – Edgewater Broadcasting files to donate three FM translators to fellow religious broadcaster Radio By Grace. The deal includes the Charleston, SC-licensed W285DV at 104.9 FM; the Charleston, SC-licensed at 105.1 FM; and the Aiken, SC-licensed at 104.9 FM.


Columbus, OH – Tegna has closed on its previously announced $535 million acquisition of Dispatch Broadcast Group radio and TV properties in Ohio, including sports “The Fan” WBNS-FM and sports sister “1460 ESPN” WBNS Columbus. Tegna doubles its radio portfolio with the pickup of the Columbus stations, after gaining KFMB-AM/FM (700/100.7) San Diego in 2018.

Victor Valley, CA – Entercom has closed a $1 million deal to sell classic hits “The Route 103.1” KVFG and “CBS Sports Radio 910” KMPS to El Dorado Broadcasters. Under terms of the contract, within 60 days of closing, El Dorado will list the KMPS tower site for sale. If the proceeds of the sale occurs within two years and total more than $500,000, the money will be split evenly between Entercom and El Dorado. If not, El Dorado will keep all of the profit from the land sale. El Dorado already four stations in the Victor Valley market, including hot AC “Y-102” KZXY-FM, classic rock “106.5 The Fox” KIXA, “Kat Country 100.7” KATJ-FM, and “Talk 960” KIXW. That means the Entercom additions fill out its cluster under current FCC limits.

Alabama – Jeff Kierce’s JDK Broadcasting closes a $150,000 deal to buy the currently silent WYDK (97.9) and WULA (1240) in Eufaula, AL from Sound Ideas. It also includes the Eufaula, AL-licensed translator W243EJ at 96.5 FM. The stations have been off the air since August 2018 because of an issue with their power source. JDK Broadcasting also owns “92.7 Buckaroo Country” KWNA-FM Winnemucca, NV (92.7).

Oklahoma – Blue Sky Media closes a $136,000 deal to buy “Classic Hits 1430” KALV, Alva, OK from MM & K of Alva. Blue Sky Media already owns hot AC “Pulse 105.7” KRDR in Alva.
