STATION SALES

Alaska – Matt Wilson has filed a $1.1 million deal to buy six-full power stations and four FM translators owned by John Davis. The contract assigns $800,000 of the sale’s value to the FCC licenses with the remaining $300,000 to the property. The stations include news-talk KSRM, hot AC “96.5 Kiss FM” KKIS-FM, and sports “ESPN 1140” KSLD in Soldotna, AK; rock “The Fuse 106.9 FM” KFSE, Kasilof, AK; country “Q-100 The Point” KWHQ-FM, Kenai, AK; and classic hits KKNI-FM, Sterling, AK (105.3). The translators include the Soldotna, AK-licensed K245DB at 96.9 FM; the Soldotna, AK-licensed K223DG at 92.5 FM; the Sterling, AK-licensed K239AV at 95.7 FM; and the Sterling, AK-licensed K232EH at 94.3 FM. Wilson is currently the General Manager for the cluster as well as a morning news anchor on KSRM, a midday host on KKNI-FM, and an afternoon host on KWHQ-FM. The Soldotna-Sterling area is about 130-miles south of Anchorage on the Kenai Peninsula.

Puerto Rico – Winfredo Blanco-Pi has filed a $150,000 deal to buy Spanish CHR WBQN, Barceloneta-Manati, PR (1160) from Radio Borinquen. The deal also includes a construction permit for the Barceloneta, PR-licensed translator W221EL at 92.1 FM. Winfredo-Pi currently owns six station on Puerto Rico including two in the San Juan region – the Spanish news-talk “La Poderosa” simulcast of WAPA (680) and WMIA (1070), with WBQN giving him a third signal in that part of the island.

Massachusetts – Horizon Christian Fellowship has filed a $12,000 deal to buy the currently-silent WCMX, Leominster, MA (1000) from City United Church. Horizon Christian Fellowship currently owns ten noncommercial stations in Massachusetts.

TRANSLATOR SALES

Texas – Educational Media Foundation has filed a $95,000 deal to buy the El Paso, TX-licensed translator K201HW at 88.1 FM from One Ministries. EMF currently owns contemporary Christian “K-Love” affiliate KKLY (89.5) in the El Paso market and the Anthony, TX-licensed FM translator K274BL at 102.7 FM that also airs “K-Love.”

New Jersey – Miguel Amador’s Ritmo Broadcasting has filed a $75,000 deal to buy the Cherry Hill, NJ-licensed translator W281CL at 104.1 FM from Priority Radio. The filing says it will relay programming from the HD2 channel of Beasley Media Group’s AC WJBR-FM, Wilmington, DE.

New Jersey – In move apparently to resolve interference problems, Dev Viswanath’s Best Media has filed to donate the Edison, NJ-licensed translator W236CT at 95.1 FM to Shawn Newman’s SRN Communications. As part of the agreement, SRN Communications will surrender the license for low-power oldies WOLD-LP, Woodbridge, NJ (107.9). Best Media will also pay SRN Communications a cash payment of $50,000 and simulcast the oldies format on its Ewansville, NJ-licensed translator W300CZ at 107.9 FM.

CLOSINGS

Albany, GA – Cumulus Media has closed a $450,000 deal to sell its cluster in market No. 236 to Rick Lambert and Charles Spencer’s First Media Services. The stations include country “Nash FM 104.5” WKAK, urban AC “V-101.7” WQVE, “Rock 103.5” WJAD, AC “Mix 107.7” WEGC and “News Talk 1590” WALG. The deal also includes the Albany, GA-licensed translator W257ED at 99.3 FM which simulcasts WALG. First Media Services also owns ten stations in West Virginia. Philadelphia – Phillip Hunt has closed on his donation of the currently-silent WNPV (1440) to religious broadcaster Four Rivers Community Broadcasting. The transfer also includes the Lansdale, PA-licensed translatorW253CA at 98.5 FM. Four Rivers Community Broadcasting owns 18 other stations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey that carry the contemporary Christian “Word FM” format.

Georgia – Edgewater Broadcasting has closed a deal to donate religious “Freedom Radio FM” WKIH, Vidalia, GA (90.3) to Radio By Grace. Edgewater acquired the station in August as part of a multi-station swap with Middle Georgia Community Radio.
