West Palm Beach, FL – Hubbard Broadcasting has closed an $88 million deal to buy hot AC WRMF (97.9), AC “Sunny 107.9” WEAT, urban AC “X-102.3” WMBX, “South Florida Country 103.1” WIRK, “Big Talk 850” WFTL and sports “640 The Hurricane” WMEN from Alpha Media. The deal also includes two FM translators: the West Palm Beach, FL-licensed W225DD at 92.9 FM which simulcasts WFTL. And the Jupiter, FL-licensed W242CI at 96.3 FM which simulcasts the HD2 channel of WMBX to create the urban “Beatz 96.3” brand. Alpha had owned the West Palm stations since Feb. 2016 when it entered the market as part of its Digity buyout. Broker: Kalil

Providence, RI – Nelson Diaz files a $240,000 deal to buy tropical “La Mega” WSTL (1220) from New England Christian Radio. The deal includes the Providence, RI-licensed translator W229AN at 93.7 FM. Diaz had been operating the stations under a local marketing agreement since Oct. 2017.

Kansas – The pending deal that would have seen Martin Mutti buy out his partner Bill Docking’s majority stake in Cowley County Broadcasting took a new direction after the Mutti died unexpectedly last August at the age of 53. Shane Farley has now closed a backup deal filed to buy a 100% stake in the company in a deal worth $75,000 from Docking and Mutti’s wife, Etta Mae. Cowley County Broadcasting owns “Country 95.9” KSOK-FM and classic hits KSOK (1280) in Winfield, KS as well as the Arkansas City, KS-licensed translator K277CK at 103.3 which lines up with KSOK’s “Mixx 103.3” branding.
