STATION SALES

New York – Educational Media Foundation files a $2.5 million deal to buy two FMs along the U.S.-Canadian border targeting listeners in the Ontario and Quebec providences. It will buy CHR “94.7 Hits” WYUL, Chateaugay, NY and “Wild Country 96.5” WVNV, Malone, NY from Martz Communications. EMF currently does not own any stations in the region. After the sale closes, Martz will still own classic hits WICY Malone, NY (1490); classic country “Star” WPDM (1470) and 80s Hits “B-99.3” WSNN, Potsdam, NY in the region. Ft. Pierce-Stuart-Vero Beach, FL – Indian River State College has filed a $950,000 deal to buy gospel “91 Jamz” WJFP (91.1) and its simulcast WJCB, Clewiston, FL (88.5) from Black Media Works. Indian River State College already owns classical WQCS (88.9) in the Ft. Pierce-Stuart-Vero Beach market.

Colorado – Andrew Scott’s Wild Goose has filed a $250,000 deal to buy classic hits “103.9 The Mammoth” KSNO-FM, Snowmass Village, CO from Tom Dobrez’s Cool Radio. Scott is the executive director of the Open Mind Project, an interdisciplinary and interfaith organization based in the area. The KSNO-FM price tag is slightly higher than the $225,000 deal filed in February 2020 to sell the station to Rocky Mountain Radio Group. That deal never closed. Once the latest sale is finalized, Dobrez will still own Cool Radio Streaming, a company that provides streaming services to radio stations. Broker: Kozacko Media Services

Chicago – Anuraag Tripathi’s Radio Ed has filed a $120,000 deal to buy religious WTZI (88.1) from Calvary Radio Network. RadioEd says it plans on broadcasting international news, commentary, children’s stories, and music. “The goal is to share multicultural content with our diverse listener base and identify ways they can interact with each other within our community,” it told the FCC. Olean, NY – Ashley Midder’s XMT Entertainment has filed a $95,000 deal to buy classic hits WXMT (106.3) from Bob Lowe’s Twilight Broadcasting. The filing includes a $76,000 promissory note. Ashley ‘Jon B’ Midder is an Olean native who is also a radio veteran who previously worked in markets including Phoenix, San Antonio, and Ft Myers, FL, among others. He will operate WXMT under a local marketing agreement until closing.

TRANSALTOR SALES

San Francisco – Alfredo Plascencia’s Lazer Broadcasting has filed a $300,000 deal to buy the San Francisco, CA-licensed translator K257GE at 99.3 FM from Hispanic Family Christian Network. The signal currently simulcasts Audacy’s LGBTQ+ CHR format “Channel Q” KGMZ (1550) on the FM dial. The translator was granted a 250-mile waiver in the FCC’s AM revitalization proceeding and is required to rebroadcast the programming of KGMZ for four years. The station stated simulcasting KGMZ on November 30, 2020.

Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville, NC – Pathway Christian Academy has filed a $150,000 deal to buy talk WJNC (1240) from Conner Media. The deal also includes the Jacksonville, NC-licensed translator W225CV at 92.9 FM. Once the sale closes, the signals are expected to air the gospel “Go Mix Radio Network” format.

St. Louis – Rob Austin’s Fusion Radio has filed a $125,000 deal to buy the St. Louis, MO-licensed K295CQ at 106.9 FM from Burt Kaufman’s Radio Property Ventures. Austin currently owns station sin the Toledo, OH market. He plans to upgrade the signal to a new tower location to coverage a larger area. Kaufman has a pending $650,000 deal to sell gospel WGNU (920) and talk KXEN (1010) to Paul Berry, who has been operating the two AMs and their translators since 2019. Broker: Kozacko Media Services

Seattle – H&S Partners has filed a $100,000 deal to buy the Auburn, WA-licensed translator K271BS at 102.1 FM and the Chehalis, WA-licensed translator K259BG fat 99.7 FM from South Sound Broadcasting. Both stations currently simulcast Sinclair Broadcast Group’s news-talk KOMO-FM (99.7) which it is selling to Lotus Communications in an unrelated $18 million deal.

Tallahassee, FL– Piedmont Communications has filed a $75,000 deal to buy the Tallahassee, FL-licensed translator W262CC at 100.3 FM from Community Public Radio. The translator is used by Tallahassee Public Radio to relay low-power religious WNEE-LP (107.5).

CLOSINGS

Pittsburgh, PA – Steve Clendenin’s Maryland One Media has closed a $475,000 deal to buy the classic hits “Westmoreland Gold” simulcast WXJX (910) and WCNS (1480) from LHTC Media. The deal also includes the Latrobe, PA-licensed W247CX at 97.3 FM and the Latrobe, PA-licensed W254CR at 98.7 FM. The deal includes a $438,000 promissory note. Brokers: Richard C. Charlotte, NC – Nancy and Stuart Epperson’s Truth Broadcasting has closed a $55,000 deal to buy WHVN (1240) from GHB Broadcasting. The deal gives Truth Broadcasting a second signal in the market where it already owns religious WCRU (960). GHB Broadcasting earlier sold WCGC (1270) in the market to Carolina Catholic Radio Network for $210,000 and contemporary Christian “The Light” WAVO (1150) to Blue Ridge Broadcasting in a $445,000 deal. It still owns regional Mexican “La Raza 106.1” WOLS in Charlotte.
