Albuquerque, NM– Don Davis’ Vanguard Media files a $25,000 deal to buy the Peralta, NM-licensed construction permit for a new AM from Bret Huggins’ E-String Wireless. The directional signal will have 50,000-watts day and 250-watts night. Vanguard Media already owns three other stations in the Albuquerque market including Spanish “La Zeta 106.3” KDLW, AC “Cindy 101.3” KRKE-FM and soft AC “The Oasis” KOAZ (1510). It also has a pending $375,000 deal to buy adult alternative “96.7 The Oasis” KSFE, Grants, NM from Royal Diversified Industries. After the CP sale closes, E-String Wireless will still own rhythmic CHR “Z-97.7” KAGZ, Burke, TX.

Kansas – The Praise Network has filed a $16,000 deal to buy news-talk/classical KZCK, Colby, KS (88.1) from High Plains Public Radio license holder, the Kanza Society. Once the sale closes, the area will still be covered by High Plans Public Radio outlet KZNK, Brewster, KS (90.1).

Indiana – Community Radio Partners has filed a $15,043 deal to buy WCNB, Dayton, IN (91.5) from Indiana Community Radio Corp. Community Radio Partners currently owns hot AC “Radio Mom” WIRE (91.1) in the Indianapolis market and the format already airs on WCNB.

SALES – TRANSLATORS

Texas – Brazos TV has filed a $30,000 deal to buy the Mount Pleasant, TX-licensed translator K265DW at 100.9 FM from North Texas Radio Group. Brazos TV plans to relay religious KETE, Sulphur Springs, TX (99.7) on the translator.

CLOSINGS

Kansas City – The University of Missouri has closed a $2 million deal to buy the currently-silent KWJC (91.9) from William Jewel College. The University of Missouri already owns news-talk/classical KCUR-FM (89.3) in the Kansas City market and the second FM will allow it to split its music and talk programming onto dedicated signals. Anchorage, AK – Joshua Fryfogle has closed a $300,000 deal to buy the currently-silent KNLT, Palmer, AK (95.5) from Tanana Valley Radio. The deal was be entirely seller-financed. Fryfogle doesn’t own any other radio stations but he is the publisher and owner of The People’s Paper and Make-A-Scene Magazine in the area.

Norfolk-Virginia Beach-Newport News, VA – Terry Suggs’ TL Broadcasting has closed a $150,000 deal to buy WXTG (1490) from Tom Davis’ Local Voice Media. The deal also includes the Hampton, VA-licensed translator W270DA at 101.9 FM. Suggs was previously a part-owner of WHLQ, Lawrenceville, VA (105.5). Local Voice Media still owns “All News 102” WXTG-FM in the market.

Greenville-Spartanburg, SC – Norberto Sanchez’s Norsan Media has closed a $150,000 deal to buy WOLI (910) from TBLC Media. WOLI has been off the air since December due to financial issues. It’s a new South Carolina market for Norsan Group which already owns stations in the Charleston, SC and Columbia, SC but WOLI becomes its first in Greenville-Spartanburg. TBLC Media earlier this year closed a $850,000 deal to sell what’s now contemporary Christian WSHP-FM (103.9) to Radio Training Network. Broker: Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage

North Carolina – WUNC, Raleigh-Durham (91.5)-based North Carolina Public Radio has closed a $50,000 deal to buy the Lumberton, NC-licensed translator W231AB at 94.1 FM from Friends of Public Radio. The translator will relay the signal of Fayetteville, NC market WFSS (91.9). Brokers: Bob Heymann of Media Services Group (for seller) and Pubic Radio Capital (for buyer)
