STATION SALES

Minnesota – Steven Hallstrom and Scott Hennen’s Flag Family Media has filed a $1.4 million deal to buy AC KMFY, Grand Rapids, MN (96.9); classic rock “J-105 The Thunder” KBAJ, Deer River, MN; and oldies “All Classics All The Time AM 1320” KOZY, Grand Rapids, MN from Lamke Broadcasting. The deal also includes the Grand Rapids, MN-licensed translator K226CV at 93.1 FM which simulcasts KOZY. Flag Family Media owns talk “The Flag” WZFG/KTGO (1100/1090) in the Fargo, ND market and operates WDAY (970) for Forum Publishing. Broker: Susan Patrick, Patrick Communications

West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL – Jean Altidore’s United Group Elite Agency Investments has filed a $1.1 million deal to buy classic rock “The Surf” WSVU (960) from Vic Canales Media Group. The deal also includes the North Palm Beach, FL-licensed translator W269DS at 101.7 FM. The filing shows a $700,000 promissory note is part of the sale. Once the deal closes, Vic Canales Media Group will still own two FM translators in the market: North Palm Beach, FL-licensed W240CI at 95.9 FM and Jupiter, FL-licensed W295BJ at 106.9 FM. Boston – Tony LaGreca and Larry Justice’s L&J Media has filed a $390,000 deal to buy classic hits WMEX (1510) from Ed Perry’s Marshfield Broadcasting. The deal also includes the Weymouth, MA-licensed translator W266DQ at 101.1 FM. The filing shows a $340,000 promissory note. Justice hosts middays on WMEX. Perry bought WMEX in 2018 for $125,000. Once the sale closes, Marshfield Broadcasting will still own AC WATD/WBMS (95.9/1460).

Indiana – Scott Huber and Johnny McCrory’s 3 Towers Broadcasting has filed a $330,000 deal to buy AC WREB, Greencastle, IN from Mark and Saundra Lange’s The Original Company. The deal includes a $280,000 promissory note. 3 Towers Broadcasting will operate the station under a local marketing agreement until closing. It already owns “Giant FM Country” WSVX (1520) and two FM translators in the Indianapolis market and hot AC “Giant FM” WROI, Rochester, IN – but neither station overlaps with WREB.

Winchester, VA – Colonial Radio Group has struck a $25,000 deal to buy “News Talk AM 1400” WZFC from Allen Shaw’s Centennial Broadcasting. The sale follows Centennial’s earlier $225,000 deal to sell sister stations hot AC “Wink FM” WINC-FM/ WKDV-FM (105.5/104.9) to Metro Radio, which reportedly was offered the AM for free but declined to take it. Once the second sale closes, Centennial Broadcasting will still own hot AC “B-101.5” WBQB and “News Talk 1230” WFVA in the Fredericksburg, VA market.

Michigan – Plonta Broadcasting has filed to donate gospel “Christian Radio 88.5” WCTP, Gagetown, MI to Smile FM. The donation also includes the Saginaw, MI-licensed translator W286CI at 105.1 FM. The donation is valued at $25,000.

TRANSLATOR SALES

Texas – Charles Crawford has filed a $67,000 deal to buy the Austin, TX-licensed translator K231CZ at 94.1 FM from Wedolynn Tellez. The filing says the primary station for the translator will remain Encino Broadcasting’s Tejano KTXZ (1560).

Ohio – The Akron City School District has filed a $30,000 deal to buy the Athens, OH-licensed translator W211BT at 90.1 FM from Spirit Communications. The school district will use the signal to simulcast adult alternative “91.3 The Summit” WAPS. Broker: MCH Enterprises

CLOSINGS

Maryland – Roberto Cortes-Campos’ Renovacion Media Group has closed a $700,000 deal to buy Spanish talk “Radio America 1540” WACA from Alejandro Carrasco’s AC Acquisitions. The deal includes a $500,000 promissory note. Renovacion Media Group has been operating WACA under a local marketing agreement since January 2019. AC Acquisitions still owns Spanish “Radio America 900” WCLM in the Washington, DC market.

Winchester, VA – Metro Radio has closed a $225,000 deal to buy hot AC “Wink FM” WINC-FM/WKDV-FM (105.5/104.9) from Centennial Broadcasting. Metro Radio currently owns Spanish CHR “La Mega” WTNT (730) and the currently silent WKDV (1460) and several FM translators in the nearby Washington, DC market. In December, Centennial Broadcasting sold another of its FMs in the Winchester market to Educational Media Foundation for $1.75 million. It also just struck a $25,000 deal to sell “News Talk AM 1400” WZFC to Colonial Radio Group (see above). Once the second sale closes, Centennial Broadcasting will still own hot AC “B-101.5” WBQB and “News Talk 1230” WFVA in the Fredericksburg, VA market

Iowa – Educational Media Foundation has closed a $200,000 deal to buy contemporary Christian “Air1” affiliate KLDX, Sioux Center, IA (88.5) from Dordt College. The school blamed ongoing costs and limited listener financial support for the station for its decision to sell. EMF owns four full-power stations and several FM translators in Iowa, but none cover Sioux Center. Broker: Greg Guy, Patrick Communications
