STATION SALES

Kansas City – Radio Vida Kansas has filed a $425,000 deal to buy “Real Country 1030” KCWJ from Stayton Communications. Radio Vida Kansas currently owns religious KZGC, Garden City, KS (91.9) in western Kansas. Earlier this month it also filed a $775,000 deal to buy talk “Fox News Radio 1410” KKLO, Leavenworth, KS from Vision Communications.

Arkansas – Bunyard Broadcasting has filed a $350,000 deal to buy AC “Eureka Springs Radio 100.9” KESA from Caleb Corp. Bunyard Broadcasting already owns “Your Country 107.1” KTHS-FM and classic rock “The Legend” KTHS (1480) in the area.

California – Nelson Gomez’s Golden Pegasus has filed a $325,000 deal to buy regional Mexican “La Joya” KQLB, Los Banos, CA (106.9) from VLB Broadcasting. The deal includes $100,000 in cash and a $225,000 promissory note. Gomez does not own any other radio stations. Broker: Jorgeson Broadcast Brokerage

Indiana – Educational Media Foundation has filed a $250,00 deal to buy religious WCJL, Morgantown, IN (90.9) from Calvary Radio Network. The signal covers an area south of Indianapolis which is partially reached by contemporary Christian “K-Love” outlet WKLU (101.9). Broker: Griffin Media Brokers

Texas – Educational Media Foundation has filed a $225,000 deal to buy rhythmic CHR “Z-97.7” KAGZ, Burke, TX from E-String Wireless. The deal includes the Lufkin, TX-licensed translator K240EO at 95.9 FM. And the Nacogdoches, TX-licensed translator at 97.3 FM. Educational Media Foundation is expected to put its contemporary Christian “K-Love” format on the signals.

New York – Jonathan Becker’s North Country Radio has struck a pair of deals that will secure its position in New York’s Adirondack region. It has filed to swap classic hits “93.5 Lake George Radio” WPLA, Saranac Lake, NY to Ricki Lee Shorthouse and Aaron Ishmael’s Loud Media. In exchange for giving up that FM, North Country Radio will pick up classic hits “Classic Hits Lake FM 102.1” WRGR, Tupper Lake, NY from Loud Media. In addition, Loud Media with pay $45,000 in cash to North Country Radio as well as buy a new 5,000-watt FM combiner to use on WSLP, Ray Brook, NY (100.7) which currently simulcasts WRGR. North Country Radio has been operating WSLP under a local marketing agreement with owner Radioactive since December 2020. And in a related transaction, it has also filed a deal to buy WSLP for $45,000. That would give North Country four stations in the Adirondack region including classic rock “Adirondack 105” WLPW, Lake Placid and its simulcast WVSL, Saranac Lake (1240); as well as WRGR and WSLP.

Texas – Ingride Montealegre has filed a $55,000 deal to buy KPZX, Paducah, TX (94.7) from Luis Giraldo. KPZX is a new Class A FM not yet on the air.

Pensacola, FL – Mary Hoxeng has filed a deal to buy “Cat Country 98.7” WYCT from ADX Communications. The deal also includes the Pensacola, FL-licensed translator W233CM at 94.5 FM. The deal does not include a cash payment, but rather Hoxeng will transfer three Pensacola residential properties to ADX Communications.

TRANSLATOR SALES

Birmingham, AL – Red Mountain Ventures has filed a $350,000 deal to buy the Fultondale, AL-licensed translator W256CD at 99.1 FM from Way Media. The filing says the translator will simulcast SummitMedia’s R&B “95.7 Jamz” WBHJ – its HD2 channel currently carries Way Media’s contemporary Christian “Way FM” network. Ohio – Friends of Summit has filed a $30,000 deal to buy the Athens, OH-licensed translator W211BT at 90.1 FM from Spirit Communications. The signal simulcasts Christian rock “RadioU” WUFM, Columbus, OH (88.7).

CLOSINGS

Salisbury-Ocean City, MD – Atlantic Gateway Communications has closed a $650,000 deal to buy WRAU (88.3) from American University. Atlantic Gateway says it plans to simulcast its Washington market contemporary Christian WGTS (91.9) on WRAU, giving it coverage of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. American University had been doing the same with the signal to simulcast news-talk WAMU (88.5). But the public broadcaster says WRAU makes up just of 2% of WAMU’s weekly broadcast audience and the costs tied to operating the simulcast partner could be better spent on digital and new broadcast formats. An earlier deal filed last year would have sold WRAU to Delaware Public Media for $537,000, but that deal never closed.

Richmond, VA – Mobile Radio Partners has closed a $209,500 deal to buy Spanish CHR “Ultra Radio” WTOX (1480) and classic hits “Boomtown Richmond” WVNZ (1320) from TBLC Richmond. The deal also includes the Richmond, VA-licensed translator W269DC at 101.7 FM. Mobile Radio Partners already owns Spanish CHR “Ultra Radio” WULT (1540) and classic hits “Boomtown Richmond” WBTL (1450). Broker: Fowler Media Consulting

Palm Springs, CA – IVOX Radio has closed a $105,000 deal to buy news-talk KKGX (920) and easy listening KWXY (1340) from Desert Broadcasters. The deal also includes the Palm Springs, CA-licensed translator K256CU at 99.1 which simulcasts KKGX. And the Cathedral City, CA-licensed translator K222DA at 92.3 FM which simulcasts KWXY.
