STATION SALES

Texas – Andrews Broadcasting Company has filed an $80,000 deal to buy country KACT-FM (105.5) and “News Talk 1360” KACT in Andrews, TX from Zia Broadcasting. KACT-FM and KACT are the only two radio stations licensed to Andrews County, TX north of the Midland-Odessa, TX market.

Mississippi – TeleSouth Communications has filed a $44,000 deal to buy “Super Talk Mississippi 103.3” WZKR, Collinsville, MS from Morning Star Media. TeleSouth Communications owns two dozen Mississippi stations, but none overlaps with WZKR.

Norfolk-Virginia Beach-Newport News – Chesapeake Public Schools files to donate variety WFOS (88.7) to Hampton Roads Educational Telecommunications Association. It will become the fifth radio station in the market for the Association which already owns classical WHRO-FM/WHRJ (90.3/89.9) and news-talk WHRG/WHRV (88.5/89.5).

TRANSLATOR SALES

Wilkes Barre-Scranton, PA – Family Life Ministries has filed a $200,000 deal to buy the Wilkes-Barre, PA-licensed translator W223CC at 92.5 FM from Geos Communications. The translator will relay the HD3 channel of Entercom’s CHR WKRZ (98.5). The deal follows Family Life’s agreement to swap contemporary Christian WCIG (107.7) to Seven Mountains Media in exchange for several stations in New York State. Family Life Ministries also has a pending deal to buy the Scranton, PA-licensed translator W280CV at 103.9 FM from Family Stations. In addition to the two translators, Family Life Ministries will also own contemporary Christian WCIN (91.3) in the Wilkes Barre-Scranton market.

California – California Broadcasting Company has filed a $95,000 deal to buy the Cotati, CA-licensed translator K289AS at 105.7 FM from One Ministries. The translator will simulcast regional Mexican “El Patron” KRRS, Santa Rosa, CA (1460).

New Jersey – Perdomo Media Group has filed a $60,000 deal to buy the Cape May, NJ-licensed translator W222AL at 92.3 FM from Gail Lee Burke. Perdomo Media Group will relay programming from the HD3 channel from Townsquare Media’s sports WENJ Atlantic City-Cape May (97.3).

CLOSINGS

Illinois – Danny Hood’s Mountain Valley Media has closed a $300,000 deal to buy gospel/religious teaching WXAN, Ava, IL (103.9) Southern Gospetality. Hood currently hosts the “Eastbound and Down” afternoon drive show on WXAN.

Salt Lake City – Hi-Line Radio Fellowship has closed a $200,000 deal to buy religious KNIT (1320) from Michael Radio Group. The deal also includes the Draper, UT-licensed translator K233DV at 94.5 FM. Hi-Line Radio Fellowship had been operating KNIT under a time brokerage agreement since February 2019.

Puerto Rico – Winfredo Blanco-Pi has closed a $150,000 deal to buy Spanish CHR WBQN, Barceloneta-Manati, PR (1160) from Radio Borinquen. The deal also includes a construction permit for the Barceloneta, PR-licensed translator W221EL at 92.1 FM. Winfredo-Pi also owns six station on Puerto Rico including two in the San Juan region – the Spanish news-talk “La Poderosa” simulcast of WAPA (680) and WMIA (1070), with WBQN giving him a third signal in that part of the island.
