Pennsylvania – Schlesinger Communications files a $1.05 million deal to buy five stations near the State College, PA and Altoona, PA markets from Magnum Broadcasting. The first piece of the deal valued at $350,000 includes rock WQKK, Renovo, PA (106.9); talk/sports “970 News Talk” WBLF, Bellefonte, PA and the Altoona, PA-licensed translator W292EZ at 106.3 FM which simulcasts WBLF. The second piece of the sale includes rock “Qwik Rock 105.9” WQCK, Philipsburg, PA. It includes a $25,000 cash payment and Schlesinger Communications will assume an outstanding promissory note valued at $676,967. Jeffry and Mark Schlesinger already own classic rock WSQV (92.1) and classic hits WBPZ (1230) in the area.

Portland, ME – Stan Bennett files a $300,000 deal to buy five full-power stations and four FM translators from Mountain Valley Broadcasting. The stations include WOXO-FM (92.7), WRMO-FM (100.7), WTME (780), WEZR (1240), and WPNO (1450). All five stations are currently off the air. The deal also includes the Lewiston, ME-licensed translator W288CW at 105.5 FM; the South Paris, ME-licensed W245CQ at 96.9 FM; the Lewiston, ME-licensed W237ET at 95.3 FM; and the Rumford, ME-licensed W252DS at 98.3 FM. The cluster went silent in March following the February 9 death of company owner Dick Gleason at age 71, and the effect the coronavirus is having on the economy. Bennett doesn’t own any other stations. He is currently Vice President of Programming for Binnie Media.

U.S. Virgin Islands – Alma Francis Heyliger’s Infinity Broadcasting files a $160,000 deal to by news-talk “Radio 1000” WVWI, Charlotte Amalie, VI from Gark LLC. The deal includes a promissory note for $150,000. Francis was the previously general manager of WVWI from 2013 to 2016; and she has hosted a talk show on cross-town talk/urban AC WVIE (107.3) since 2015.

Tennessee – Beverly Broadcasting Company files a $16,800 deal to buy gospel WENR, Englewood, TN (1090) from George Hudson. The deal also includes the construction permit for the Englewood, TN-licensed translator W288DR at 105.5 FM that will give the 1,000-watt daytime-only station a 24-hour signal. Michael Beverly already owns classic hits “The Eagle” WDNT, Spring City, TN (970) and soft AC “Alive” WALI, Dayton, TN (1280) but neither overlaps with WENR.

Mississippi – Seth Kent’s Back Forty Broadcasting files a $5,000 deal to buy WLEE, Winona, MS (1570) from Brantley Broadcast Associates. The sale also includes the Winona, MS-licensed translator W251CN at 98.1 FM. It is the first station owned by Seth Kent, but his wife, Sharon Kent, is 50% owner of country “95.1 The Hawg” WONA-FM, Vaiden, MS.

Ft. Walton Beach-Destin, FL – The Ft. Walton Beach Educational Broadcasting Foundation files to donate contemporary Christian WPSM (91.1) to the Destiny Worship Center.


Arizona – Desert Explorer Communications files a $2,000 deal to buy the Chinle, AZ-licensed translator K252ER at 98.3 FM from Sariah Hilliam. The translator simulcasts classic hits “Red Rock 92” KBDX, Blanding, UT.


Ohio – AVC Communications Multimedia Group has closed a $1.4 million deal to buy classic hits “Y-107.3” WYBZ, Crooksville, OH from Y-Bridge Broadcasting. AVC Communications had already owned six other stations in the Cambridge, OH area including hot AC “Mix 96” WCMJ, classic hits WBNV (93.5), country “KC-105” WWKC, classic rock “Rock 92.1” WBIK, adult standards WILE-FM (97.7), and classic country “Nash Icon 1270” WILE but none of them overlaps with WYBZ.

Oklahoma – The Chickasaw Nation closes a $14,000 deal to buy the silent KVOY, Wynnewood, OK (104.5) from the Real Community Radio Network. The Chickasaw Nation already owns five other FMs in the region but none of them overlaps with KVOY.
