Monterey-Salinas-Santa Cruz, CA – California Ortiz & 2 Media has filed a $900,000 deal to buy regional Mexican “La Buena 103.5” KRAY-FM and regional Mexican “Radio Lobo 106.3” KMJV from Hector Villalobos’ Wolfhouse Radio Group. The deal also includes the Watsonville, CA-licensed translator K277AH at 103.3 FM which simulcasts KRAY-FM. California Ortiz & 2 Media is a partnership of Daisy Ortiz, Eduardo Leon and Vanessa Diaz. Ortiz is a two-decade veteran of Hispanic media, most recently working as a sales manager for Entravision’s Estrella Media in Los Angeles and as a sales manager for LBI Media in Los Angeles, Houston and Dallas. Leon is a former VP of Programming at LBI Media and founder of Radio Ideas, a Los Angeles-based consulting and marketing firm. Once the sale closes, Wolfhouse Radio Group will still own regional Mexican “Radio Tigre” KTGE (1570) in the market.

Michigan – Julie Koehn has filed a deal to buy country “Q-95” WQTE and “News Talk 1490” WABJ in Adrian, MI from Bud Walter’s Cromwell Group. Koehn will pay one dollar for the two stations and assume debt totaling up to $600,000. She already owns AC WLEN (103.9) in Adrian, MI.

Wisconsin – George Manus and Mike Oberg’s Zoe Communications has filed a $100,000 deal to buy classic hits “The Dice 93.1” WJBL and sports WLDY (1340) in Ladysmith, WI from Randy Hudzinski’s Flambeau Broadcasting Co. Zoe Communications will operate the stations under a local marketing agreement until closing. It owns nine other Wisconsin stations, but none overlaps with the latest additions.

Colorado – Tom Troland has filed a $24,461 deal to buy the 50% interest in Desert Explore Communications held by Michael Mallace. The sale gives Troland 100% ownership of the company. Desert Explore Communications owns the currently-silent KDVK, Dove Creek, CO (103.5) and the Chinle, AZ-licensed translator K252ER at 88.1 FM.

Georgia – Edgewater Broadcasting has filed a deal to donate religious “Freedom Radio FM” WKIH, Vidalia, GA (90.3) to Radio By Grace. Edgewater acquired the station in August as part of a multi-station swap with Middle Georgia Community Radio.


Jackson, MS – Matthew Wesolowski and Carl Adkins’ SSR Communications has closed an $84,000 deal to buy talk WSFZ (930) from Clay and Robert Holladay’s New South Radio. The deal also includes the Jackson, MS-licensed translator W296DD at 107.1 FM. SSR Communications already owns talk WYAB (103.9) in the Jackson market.

Albuquerque, NM – El Camino Communications has closed a deal to donate Spanish contemporary Christian “El Camino 1310” KKNS to the Navajo Nation. The tribe owns four other full-power stations – including country KTNN-FM, Tohatchi, NM (101.5) – but none overlaps with KKNS.
