Nebraska – Gary Shorman and Kurt David’s Eagle Radio has filed an $800,000 deal to buy “Rock 100.7” KRNP, Sutherland, NE and classic country “Country 93.5” KZTL, Paxton, NE from G.I. Family Radio. The deal gives Eagle Radio two more stations in the North Platte area where it already owns AC “Mix 97.1” KELN, “Q-Country 107.3” KNPQ and its simulcast on KOOQ (1410). It will operate KRNP and KZTL under a local marketing agreement until closing. Broker: Kalil

Kentucky – In a two-step deal Lincoln-Garrard Broadcasting has filed to transfer country “K-105.7” WTBK, Manchester, KY back to Tim Finley’s Manchester Communications. Lincoln-Garrard Broadcasting bought WTBK in 2014 for $425,000 including a $275,000 promissory note. But it defaulted on the note with $191,637 outstanding, leading to a court judgement against Lincoln-Garrard Broadcasting. In a simultaneous move, Finley has filed to sell WTBK to Karen Moses’ Strategic Impact Marketing for $138,542, all of which will be covered by a new promissory note between Moses and Finley. Moses already programs country “101.9 Nash Icon” WKFC in the area under a local marketing agreement with owner Radioactive.

CLOSINGS

Philadelphia – Victor Martinez and Matthew Braccili’s VM Broadcasting has closed a $1.5 million deal to buy Spanish CHR “La Kalle” WHAT (1340) from Aztec Capital Partners. The deal also includes the Philadelphia, PA-licensed W260CZ at 99.9 FM. The deal includes a $1.3 million promissory note. VM Broadcasting already owns the tropical “Mega” simulcast WEST/WHOL (1400/1600) in the Allentown-Bethlehem, PA market. Aztec Capital Partners will still own the silent WNWR (1540) in the Philadelphia market.

Lexington-Fayette, KY – Charles Cohn’s Clarity Communications has closed a $340,000 deal to buy classic hits “Rewind 105.5” WWRW from iHeartMedia. The station has been operated by the Aloha Station Trust since the 2008 buyout of iHeart by Bain Capital and THL Partners. Clarity Communications already owns classic country “Hank 96.1” WLXO in the Lexington-Fayette market which it leases to L.M. Communications, the owner of four other stations in market No. 103. In the market iHeartMedia still owns country “98.1 The Bull” WBUL-FM, rock WKQQ (100.1), CHR “104.5 The Cat” WLKT, hot AC “Mix 94.5” WMXL, “News Radio 630” WLAP, and rock WWTF (1580).

Tyler-Longview, TX – The University of Texas at Tyler has closed a $120,000 deal to buy KVUT (99.7) from Richard Witkovski’s North Texas Radio. The University of Texas already owns stations in the Austin and Bryan-College Station, TX markets, but KVUT will become its first in the Tyler-Longview market. Once the sale closes, North Texas Radio will still own the silent KEBE-FM (95.1) in the Tyler-Longview market.

Minnesota – St Mary’s University has closed a deal to donate variety “Real College Radio” KSMR, Winona, MN (92.5) to Real Presence Radio. The transfer also includes the Winona, MN-licensed translator K232CZ at 94.3 FM. Real Presence Radio will put its religious teaching network on the signals.
