Liz Alesse

Liz Alesse has already been working on ABC News podcasts such as In Plain Sight: Lady Bird Johnson, The Dropout, and Life Out Loud with LZ Granderson. Now she is taking a bigger role at the network, which has just named Alesse as its new Director and Executive Producer of Podcast Programming. “She has big plans for the unit, including adding new titles and seasons to our existing podcast library,” said ABC Audio VP/ General Manager Stacia Philips Deshishku in the announcement.

Alesse is not new to ABC News. She has been a supervising producer for its coverage of the White House and Capitol Hill and formerly was a producer on the “This Week” Sunday show. Since November she began a six-month assignment leading the charge on podcasting that stretched into a nearly year-long role.

“Liz has already been able to leverage her understanding of the news division and relationships across the platforms on behalf of ABC Audio,” said Deshishku. “Liz has been a true force since her arrival, from learning the intricacies of the business and the editorial nuances of podcasting to hiring and inspiring new team members. And she is just getting started.”

Prior to joining ABC News in 2015, Alesse worked at WGBH Boston and New England Cable News. She also worked in her hometown of Albany, NY.
