Audacy Chief Revenue Officer Bob Philips is relinquishing that C-suite role to take a new position as President of Audacy Networks and Multi-Market Sales. The company has begun a search for a new CRO. Until then, Chief Operating Officer Susan Larkin will oversee the company’s sales leaders and teams.
“We believe Bob will deliver significant revenue impact and client outcomes by focusing on growing our Network and multi-market sales businesses as we continue to execute our market growth strategy,” Larkin said in an internal memo obtained by Inside Radio.
While Philips title is new, he has been overseeing the company’s network division since the national ad sales arm was created by the company in May 2018. The unwired network was first branded as Entercom Audio Networks and Philips took on an expanded role as its President in March 2020 in addition to his CRO role.
Now relinquishing the CRO position, Philips will focus full time on the network division along with multi-market sales.
“As Chief Revenue Officer, Bob was a catalyst for innovation and growth,” Larkin said in the memo. “Under his leadership, we streamlined multiple revenue departments, launched the Audacy Network and our in-house traffic network while also revolutionizing our approach to national sales, bringing new brands and bigger opportunities onto our platform. And, as the economy rebounds and local and national advertising return to pre-pandemic levels, Bob will build exponential value for our clients and for Audacy.”
Philips, who is based in New York, joined the company from CBS Radio when it and Entercom merged in November 2017.
