Sherry Dollar, Cumulus Media Charleston VP/Market Manager has died after a courageous battle with breast cancer at age 52. The 27-year radio veteran was surrounded by family, who asked for prayers and to honor her last wish to “be kind.”
“Sherry was a terrific Market Manager and a terrific human being,” Cumulus CEO Mary Berner said in a statement. “She will be sorely and deeply missed by all of us.” Bob Walker Executive VP/Operations added, “Sherry’s passion for this business was only surpassed by her passion for life. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and I will forever be grateful to have worked with her.”
A University of Houston graduate, Dollar began her radio career as an Account Executive at Clear Channel Houston in 1992. She took on the General Sales Manager role at CHR KRBE Houston in 2001, where she remained for five years under both Susquehanna Radio and Cumulus Media ownership before moving to CBS Radio country KILT-FM Houston in the same role. Dollar was named VP/Market Manager for Cumulus Charleston in February 2014.
Details about her memorial are forthcoming.
