Veteran broadcast finance exec J.P. Hannan has resurfaced in a related industry. The former Cumulus Media VP, treasurer and chief financial officer has joined online advertising tech company Social Reality as its chief financial officer.
Social Reality provides tools to automate digital advertising, including the Social Reality Ad Exchange, a real-time bidding management platform for social and digital media campaigns.
Hannan left Cumulus in June when the company brought John Abbot on board as CFO. He assisted the company for several months during a transitionary period and agreed to provide “additional assistance and cooperation” for up to nine months.
While at Cumulus, Hannan also juggled CFO duties at Modern Luxury Media, the regional lifestyle magazine publisher owned by former Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey and his brothers. Before Cumulus, Hannan was VP and CFO of the radio division of Lincoln Financial Media and held corporate CFO and later broadcast group chief operating officer titles at Lambert Television.
“J.P. has extensive financial experience as well as a strong background in broadcasting and media that we will leverage,” Christopher Miglino, CEO of Social Reality, said in a release. “We believe he is a valued addition to our company.”
Said Hannan, “I am deeply excited to be joining this dynamic company with such dedicated and innovative leadership. I look forward to helping Chris and his partners build upon the solid foundation they’ve already laid to drive Social Reality to the next level.”
