SiriusXM is partnering with recording artist Drake to bring a trifecta of new features to both SiriusXM and Pandora: a dedicated station, curated music, and collaborations with creative talent. This marks the first artist collaboration between both SiriusXM and Pandora since the companies merged, as well as the “largest agreement” the brands have executed with a major recording artist to date.
The Thursday announcement aligns the satellite service and its sister music streaming service with the most streamed artist of all time. Specific details on what is to come have not been revealed.
“It's clear that with this move, Sirius is hoping to further challenge streaming giants Spotify and Apple Music,” offers Complex in its report. Drake previously partnered with Apple Music, delivering timed exclusives to the platform and hosting OVO Sound Radio. The last episode of that collaboration aired last October. The deal with Apple is worth a reported $19 million, according to Fortune.
