Veteran radio personality Frank Ski returns to Howard University adult R&B WHUR-FM Washington (96.3) for afternoons, effective Aug. 3. The Frank Ski Show with Nina Brown,” weekdays from 3-7pm completes a revamped lineup at the station, which last week added Autumn Joi in middays and John Mons as host of the “Original Quiet Storm” from 7:30pm-12am.

“Frank Ski has dominated ratings and has an incredible legacy of community enrichment wherever he is on the air,” Program Director Al Payne said in a release. “He is a media icon and adding his name to WHUR once again completes our DMV dream team.”

“Connecting to the Washington, DC listeners is extremely important to me during this challenging time in our history,” Ski added.

Ski stepped down from hosting mornings at Entercom hip-hop/R&B “V-103” WVEE Atlanta earlier this month. He previously hosted afternoons at WHUR-FM from 2013-2015 and began his career in the market in the early 90s, while also working in the nearby Baltimore market. Brown has produced several of Ski’s radio programs during her nearly two-decade career in radio and TV.

“Now more than ever, it’s crucial to have knowledgeable trustworthy voices on the air,” General Manager Sean Plater remarked. “Frank and Nina have a proven track record of success and adding them to the WHUR team is a huge win for us.”
