In celebration of the St. Louis Blues winning the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history, Hubbard adult hits “106.5 The Arch” WARH is flipping to “Gloria 106.5” this weekend. Named after the Blues victory song from Laura Branigan, “Gloria 106.5” will debut at 3pm on Friday, June 14. Every 15 minutes the station will play back audio of the greatest plays in Blues history and feature songs that were popular during that season.
“106.5 The Arch is the essence of St. Louis and has been in a Blues frenzy from the beginning,” Program Director Scott Roddy said in a release. “We threw the World’s Largest Gloria-oke party earlier in the month with hundreds of fans gathering to sing the Blues victory song ‘Gloria.’ We had the so much fun on the air with everyone from Charles the Anthem singer, to Jeremy the Blues organist, all the way to the cup with Stacey and Jonah broadcasting live from the official Blues watch party at the Enterprise Center last night. We are so proud to bleed blue.”
The song has become a rallying cry for the city, with Entercom hot AC “Y98” KYKY currently playing the track 24 hours straight to celebrate winning Lord Stanley’s cup. The station did the same when the Blues advanced in the playoffs over the Dallas Stars.
