Townsquare Media 375

In a move designed to drive more statewide revenue for its 24 Michigan stations, Townsquare Media promotes Jeff Luckoff to Regional Market President/Chief Revenue Officer – Michigan and Eric Meier to the newly created position of Director of Content – Michigan. Luckoff increases responsibilities to include statewide oversight of Townsquare’s clusters in Flint, Lansing, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, as Meier, working in partnership with Luckoff, will oversee all station content statewide.

Luckoff, currently Market President for Townsquare's Grand Rapids stations and formerly Senior VP of Sales for iHeartMedia in Michigan, will report to Townsquare Senior VP Todd Lawley.

“Jeff has done an excellent job running our markets, and as Regional Market President is going to work with our leadership and sales teams across Michigan to better serve our customers and drive more revenue,” Townsquare Chief Operating Officer, Local Media Erik Hellum says. Adds Lawley, “In a very short amount of time Jeff has reset the culture, made key hires and built a foundation that is unlocking the full potential of our market leading online and on-air brands in Grand Rapids. We are now challenging Jeff to unlock the full potential of our statewide footprint.”

“We have incredible talent and local brands throughout the state of Michigan,” Luckoff says. “I am fortunate for the opportunity to utilize Townsquare’s footprint to deepen our impact on the community and further deliver better results for our advertisers.”

While Luckoff will now have a statewide role, Townsquare is keeping standalone Market Presidents in each of its Michigan markets. The new positions are designed to allow the company to better serve regional advertisers across the state and share content across markets.

For example, the syndicated “Free Beer & Hot Wings” morning show, which originates from Townsquare rock WGRD-FM Grand Rapids (97.9) and can be heard in its other Michigan markets, could be sold to statewide advertisers instead of only one market at a time.

Meier, a longtime Townsquare employee, is elevated from Regional Digital Specialist for the company's Kalamazoo stations, prior to which he served as Digital Managing Editor and Director of Content for its stations in Utica, NY.

“Eric essentially created this opportunity by generating best-in-class results working with our teams in many local markets,” Lawley says. “In this new role, Eric will help our great Michigan content teams continue to build momentum.”

Townsquare Senior VP/Programming Kurt Johnson adds, “Through his years of increasing responsibility in the company, Eric’s become a proven performer several times over. I’m thrilled to have him collaborate with all of our 24 local brands in Michigan.”

“It's a dream come true to work with the Directors of Content and Digital Managing Editors across Michigan on the most legendary brands,” Meier says. “Having just one of these on your resume would be a capstone achievement. To be associated with all of them is beyond compare.”
