...The NAB Leadership Foundation (NABLF) announces the class of the 20th annual Broadcast Leadership Training (BLT) program. The 10-month, MBA-style program teaches the fundamentals of purchasing, owning and operating radio and television stations to senior-level broadcast executives, particularly women and people of color, who aspire to advance as group executives or station owners. “We once again have an outstanding group of diverse senior-level broadcasters who will have the opportunity to learn about our business from industry experts,” BLT program Founder and Dean Diane Sutter, who is also the Founder, President and CEO of ShootingStar Broadcasting, said in a release. ...Eric Church is the latest country superstar announced to participate in a session at the upcoming Country Radio Seminar (CRS). The EMI Nashville artist will be the subject of a Q&A, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20 during CRS 2020, at Nashville’s Omni Hotel Feb. 19-21. “As if CRS 2020 wasn’t already star-studded—Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood—the addition of Eric Church ups the ante for sure,” CRB/CRS President of the Board Kurt Johnson said in a release. “You can bet I’ll be front and center to take in this amazing, intimate conversation with a modern country music legend.” Registration for CRS 2020 will increase from $599 to $649 starting Thursday, Oct. 17. ...The BMI Foundation announced it is now accepting online applications for the 2020 scholarship season. Among the offerings is the BMI Founders Internship Program for Radio Broadcasting, an annual internship program open to radio broadcasting students nationwide. The 4-6-week paid internship with a major broadcaster is awarded based on merit and the best original essay response submitted to the competition, and recognizes a student with the potential to become an innovator in the rapidly changing field of broadcast radio.
