...SB Nation Radio debuts “Above it All with Candace Cooper and Tiffany Marshall,” which will air from 10am-1pm, beginning in January. Cooper is a sportswriter from Raleigh and Marshall has worked in sports management and marketing, most recently with the Houston Rockets. “I am elated to be joining SB Nation Radio and have the opportunity to be working with Tiffany,” Cooper said in a release. “The time is now for strong, female driven shows and I’m eager to begin this new adventure.”

...The call for entries is open for the Colorado Broadcasters Association annual Awards of Excellence. Radio and TV stations from across the state will compete in more than fifty categories. The entry deadline is Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 with the Awards of Excellence celebration taking place Friday, April 17 at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Denver.

...Gen Media Partners (GMP) spotlights the power of local independent radio with a message to national advertisers. GMP sent an email to national and regional ad agencies across the country, spotlighting the influence that independent broadcasters have in their communities. “Advertising on independent radio gives national advertising brands credibility and acceptance from local consumers,” CEO Kevin Garrity said in a release. “Many of the stations we represent are run by people who live in the neighborhoods they serve. These radio stations are the heart of their local communities and hyper-connected to their audiences.”
