...“The Daily Line,” the sports wagering program heard in afternoons on NBC Sports Radio, adds Sara Perlman to its talent lineup, effective Aug 5. The former Orioles sideline reporter joins Michael Jenkins and Tim Murray on the Westwood One-distributed program, which also gains a TV simulcast on a number of NBC Sports cable outlets in the Bay Area, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, DC, where the show originates.

...NRG Media sports “1620 The Zone” KOZN Omaha-Council Bluffs remains the flagship radio station for Creighton University Men's Basketball. The new contract extension calls for all home and away games to be broadcast on KOZN for the next three seasons, with home games continuing to be simulcast on classic rock sister “101.9 The Keg” KOOO. “We've had an outstanding relationship with Creighton University for many years, and we are extremely excited that our relationship will continue for many years to come,” said GM Mark Shecterle. “Creighton is a fantastic university with a great athletic program, and we are thrilled to be associated with the university.”

...Townsquare Media rebrands urban contemporary WALJ Tuscaloosa as “105.1 The Block.” Townsquare recently purchased the station from Apex Broadcasting and will retain the Reach Media-syndicated “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” but announced plans to program the station locally under Mary “K” Schmitt, who joins as Assistant OM and Brand Manager. “We studied the market for well over a year to analyze the benefits and the opportunities of these changes,” Market President David DuBose said in a release. “This acquisition fits with Townsquare Media’s approach of creating the dominant radio group in West Alabama. We will continue to invest in local talent, sports, news and weather.”

...George Laughlin, CEO of YEA Networks, is featured in the August issue of “Southwest: The Magazine,” the inflight magazine of Southwest Airlines. In its latest installment of “The A-List,” Laughlin shares his insights on business and travel, and notes that his most memorable trips on the airline have been to Orlando for the annual “Kidd's Kids” trip to Walt Disney World, which Southwest Airlines has supported for 13 years by donating a chartered plane and airfare for children with life-altering conditions and their parents. “Kidds Kids” was founded by the late Kidd Kraddick in 1991 and has since sent 1,000 kids and their families on trips to Walt Disney World.
