Nick Cannon 2019

Nick Cannon has scored his first ratings No. 1 since entering syndication in January 2020. “Nick Cannon Radio” on Alpha Media urban contemporary “B96.5” WGZB Louisville topped the ranker in women 18-34 and adults 18-49 in Nielsen’s April diary survey.

WGZB began carrying the show January 27, 2020. Comparing December 2019 to April 2020, the station’s morning drive AQH share in women 18-34 surged 43% while persons 18-49 jumped 42% during the same period.

Based at rhythmic CHR “Power 106” KPWR Los Angeles, Cannon expanded into national radio syndication in January via Skyview Networks in a partnership with KPWR owner Meruelo Media.

“We were excited to be the first station to syndicate Nick in the mornings and the pay off in ratings and revenue has come much faster than we expected,” Armand “DJ Q” Flowers, Alpha Media Louisville’s Content Director and midday talent, said in a press release.

Best known as the host of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” and NBC’s talent competition series, “America’s Got Talent,” Cannon brought immediate familiarity and awareness to the airwaves.

Steve Jones, President and COO of Skyview Networks, says Cannon’s show was designed to run in mornings, middays or afternoons and that all three dayparts are represented in his current eight-market affiliate base. In addition to Louisville the show is carried in Portland, OR; Louisville, KY; Birmingham, AL; Buffalo, NY; Mobile, AL; Ocean City, MD; Amarillo, TX; and Greenville, SC. More affiliates are expected to be announced soon.

Skyview Networks Executive VP/GM Jeanne-Marie Condo said ad agencies are showing strong interest in the show. “As demographic targets move from Adults 25-54 to Adults 18-49, Nick Cannon has proven himself as an entertainment leader, positively impacting audiences and driving client results,” Condo said.
