KAMP

The official word on Carson Daly’s replacement at Entercom CHR “97.1 Amp Radio” KAMP Los Angeles has come down as Edgar Sotelo and Brian Moote will host a new morning show on the station, starting in February. Sotelo, also known as Shoboy, previously hosted mornings on the former “Amp 92.3” WBMP New York, while Moote has been part of the syndicated “The Bert Show” for the past year.

Daly stepped down from the program in July to spend more time with his family and focus on his TV work, as well as his syndicated weekend countdown show, "Daly Download," which KAMP still carries.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring together Edgar and Brian on Amp Radio,” senior VP and market manager Jeff Federman said. “Both of them are smart, genuine and funny and we look forward to watching them make a huge impact in L.A. – on air, on-site at local events and on social media.”

It’s a return to SoCal for Sotelo who grew up there after arriving from his native Mexico. Moote, a stand-up comedian by trade, is a Southern California native.

“I want to thank the Entercom familia led by [Entercom CEO] David Field, as well as [KAMP PD] Chris Ebbott, Jeff Federman, [executive VP/programming] Chris Oliviero and [president of programming] Pat Paxton for this amazing opportunity,” Sotelo said. “I am super Amp’d and blessed to be able to do what I love in my hometown with our awesome 97.1 Amp Radio team. I look forward to serving, having fun and bringing joy to our SoCal community every morning.”

For his part Moote said, “I am excited and looking forward to the opportunity to build a great morning show with 97.1 Amp Radio Los Angeles… I can't wait to meet the Amp Radio morning family.”
