Syndicated conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh appeared again on the “Fox and Friends” TV program Monday morning (July 29) with an update to his ongoing “Stand Up For Betsy Ross” t-shirt sales.

“I wanted to come back today,” Limbaugh told the trio of hosts, as he thanked the network for their support of the project and their viewers and his listeners for purchasing the t-shirts. “Today the donation to Tunnel to Towers is now up to $3 million and counting. There’s no end in sight.”

Limbaugh’s team designed the shirt “as a pushback to [Colin] Kaepernick and Nike,” he said on his first appearance on the program earlier this month. Nike halted plans to introduce a colonial flag-themed sneaker after Colin Kaepernick informed the footwear giant that the flag has been adopted by some white supremist groups.

Apparently deflecting the attention from himself and thanking his massive radio audience of Dittoheads, Limbaugh said, “Everybody is characterizing this as a Rush Limbaugh donation, it is not, this is the people buying the shirts and making the donation possible.”

The first $2 million raised from the sale of the t-shirts was used by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation to pay off the mortgages on the family homes of six slain American heroes. “Thanks to the generosity of Rush and Kathryn, and the listeners of The Rush Limbaugh Show, six families who have lost their husbands and fathers, killed while they were protecting us at home and abroad, can rest a little easier knowing they own their homes free and clear,” Tunnel to Towers CEO and Chairman Frank Siller said earlier in a release.
