Digital audio advertising network Targetspot is launching a new podcast ad marketplace next month. The Podcast Marketplace will connect podcast publishers with advertisers throughout North America and Europe. Targetspot’s existing premium publishers and partners will have access upon its launch, while any producer seeking a single platform for creation, storage, distribution and monetization will be able to utilize the marketplace this spring.
“The main objective of the podcast marketplace is to provide the greatest exposure and easiest monetization solution to all podcast producers looking to capitalize on the interest of advertisers in the rising medium of audio on demand,” chief revenue officer Erik Portier said.
The Podcast Marketplace utilizes the company’s proprietary technology, including Shoutcast, Winamp and Targetspot Passport. Advertisers will be able to buy pre-roll and instream audio through programmatic connections to major demand-side platforms and through direct buys.
