“The Jubal Show” has been hired as the new morning show at iHeartMedia CHR “106.1 Kiss FM” KBKS-FM Seattle. Jubal Fresh, formerly of the nationally-syndicated, and Seattle-based, “Brooke & Jubal Show,” replaces Carla Marie and Anthony, who were dismissed late last week. “The Jubal Show” is slated for an August debut and will feature his wife Alex Fresh and additional hosts to be named later.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Jubal on his next endeavor and welcome him to iHeartMedia Seattle,” Market President Robert Dove said in a release. “Jubal’s ability to cultivate a diverse fan base across America, but most importantly, right here in Seattle, was just something we could not miss. I’m excited to welcome him and Alex to the team.”

It’s a return to KBKS-FM for Jubal, who worked at the station early in his career. He officially left the Premiere Networks-syndicated “Brooke & Jubal Show” in April after being absent from the morning show for most of the year. The show has since been re-branded “Brooke & Jeffrey,” with “Young Jeffrey” Dubow moving from Executive Producer to co-host.

The change means that the former co-hosts of the “Brooke & Jubal Show” will now be competing against one another. “Brooke & Jeffrey” remains based at crosstown Hubbard CHR “Movin 92.5” KQMV.

“I'm going back to Kiss because when I left 10-years ago, I didn't get the chance to clean out my desk, and I just want my favorite pen back,” Jubal quipped. “Oh, and also the amazing opportunity to work for, and with, the best in the business at iHeartMedia. I'm constantly trying to evolve and grow and find new innovative ways to entertain my audiences and iHeart is always on the cutting edge. This new chapter is going to be bananas. Plus, I get my pen back.”

Carla Marie and Anthony were one-time members of Elvis Duran’s morning show at “Z100” WHTZ New York and came to Seattle in 2016 as the company launched CHR “Power 93.3” KPWK on what had been rhythmic CHR KUBE. In 2018, Carla Marie and Anthony segued to the company’s KBKS, which reverted back to its previous CHR format after two years positioned as a hot AC station, while KUBE returned to the 93.3 signal.

“I’m grateful for those who gave us a chance, more than once, to do what we love,” Carla Marie wrote in an Instagram post over the weekend. “Anthony and I will continue to bring you our MyDayFriday podcast, but you can check here for updates.”

It’s unclear if Carla Marie and Anthony morning show members Amber “Alabama” Cole and “English Evan” Omelia will be part of the new morning show or if they are exiting the station with the change. The two were added to the show in 2019 after a Seattle Funniest Person contest. Cole came to Seattle from iHeartMedia country “Big 95.5” WEBG Chicago and Omelia was working within the iHeartMedia Seattle sales department.

Also missing from the “106.1 Kiss FM” on-air schedule is midday personality Mollie Mesnick, a former contestant on “The Bachelor,” who was a member of the previous morning show prior to Carla Marie and Anthony’s arrival. PD Jared Fallon is listed on the KBKS-FM website in middays, but it’s unclear if he will remain there.
