VCY America, which continues its efforts to take control of Ed Stolz’s former stations in San Francisco, Las Vegas and Palm Springs, is expanding its national footprint with the $825,000 purchase of religious KTIA Des Moines (99.3) from Truth Broadcasting.
The Milwaukee-based VCY (Voice of Christian Youth) America operates stations in 13 Wisconsin markets and also has outlets for its Christian talk and teaching and its contemporary Christian formats in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, South Dakota, West Virginia, Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas.
VCY America already covers parts of the Des Moines market with religious rimshotter KVCI, Montezuma, IA (89.7).
The company is already operating the three stations it is purchasing from Ed Stolz’s Royce International Broadcasting – KREV San Francisco (92.7), KFRH Las Vegas (104.3) and KRCK-FM Palm Springs, CA (97.7) – however the FCC has yet to name the company the license holder for the stations due to Stolz’s continued legal battle to try and retain the stations.
The stations have been under the control of broker Larry Patrick since July 2020. VCY America agreed to purchase the trio for $6 million.
