It’s official: ESPN Radio’s Will Cain is returning to Fox News, where he will co-host “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Saturdays and Sundays from 6-10am. Cain will make his official debut on the program alongside co-hosts Jedediah Bila and Pete Hegseth on Aug. 15.
“Will has a unique ability to connect with an audience on a wide variety of topics and will make an excellent addition to the Fox & Friends franchise,” Gavin Hadden, VP of Morning Programming said in a release.
“Fox & Friends Weekend” has featured a substitute rotating co-host since Tucker Carlson moved to early primetime in 2016 and eventually the 8pm timeslot in 2017.
“I am excited to join the team at Fox & Friends Weekend and look forward to building upon my experience in sports, news and politics on the number one morning show in the country,” Cain added.
Cain was an on-air political contributor at Fox before joining ESPN in June 2018, where he has been hosting afternoons (3-8pm) before signing off last week. Rumors of Cain returning to Fox News have been floated for months.
“It's the Will Cain Show on ESPN Radio. One more time,” he said on Friday’s (June 26) program, according to The Big Lead. Speaking about the audience, Cain continued, “All I ever cared about was connecting with people. Going back and forth, disagreeing, whatever it may be.” Listen to his final segment on ESPN Radio HERE.
Previously, Cain served as a political analyst for CNN, co-hosting “In the Arena” with Eliot Spitzer prior to joining “Starting Point” with Soledad O’Brien in 2012. Additionally, he was a host on The Blaze, where he helmed a number of programs including, “Real News,” “Cain and Cupp,” and “The Cain Conversation.”
