Hubbard Radio hot AC “101.9 The Mix” WTMX Chicago launches “The Mix New Music Club,” a unique effort for a hot AC station, hosted by MD/overnight host Nikki Chuminatto.
“Hear and enjoy new music every night from both artists you already love, and brand-new artists like Lizzo, Lewis Capaldi, BadSuns and Delacy,” a release reads. “These new artists are making their mark on the pop music landscape right now and are developing and growing into the Mix Music stars of tomorrow.”
Chuminatto will be joined by guests, “some famous and some not so much,” for one hour each weeknight at 12am, playing “the very best in fun, promising, obscure, live, outtakes – and hopefully destined for prime time – great new pop music.”
WTMX VP of Brand and Content Jimmy Steal implemented a similar new music program, “New @ 2,” while at KPWR Los Angeles. Steal came to “101.9 The Mix” in January after spending nearly 20 years at “Power 106.”
“101.9 The Mix” is soliciting listener feedback on the new feature via a dedicated email address and on its Instagram and Twitter accounts. “We hope you have as much fun listening to the new Mix New Music Club every night at midnight as Nikki and our Mix Music Team have putting it together for you every night,” the release adds.
WTMX ranked first in the April 2019 PPMs, posting a 5.9 share (6+).
