Penny Nelson, who worked at news/talk KQED-FM San Francisco (88.5) for 25 years as a news writer, producer and on-air personality, has died at the age of 57 from brain cancer. Nelson served as a guest host on “Forum” and “The California Report.” She also worked as a literary agent.  Read more

Jon Crossland, who worked in sales for radio and audio tech companies for more than 40 years, has died at the age of 68. His cause of death wasn’t publicly released. For the past year Crossland was Vice President of Sales at Specialty Data Systems (SDS) in Toronto. Before that he spent 13 years as Senior Sales Manager at WideOrbit. Read more

Rev. Jack Maurice Mortenson, founder of Mortenson Broadcasting, passed away April 1 at the age of 85. The company’s first station debuted in 1960, WTOF-FM Canton, OH, with the second being WHKK Cincinnati. Mortenson Broadcasting became a major player in the national Christian broadcasting field with the company owning and operating more than forty stations in eighteen markets in the United States.   Read more
