NRG Media hot AC “Sweet 98.5” KQKQ Omaha debuts “Nikki & Spicoli Mornings,” hosted by current morning host Nikki Oswald and Jason Spicoli, who served as morning host at Iowa Western Community College crosstown adult alternative “89.7 The River” KIWR for the past 18 years. Spicoli replaces Laura Blenkesh, who stepped down in July. Read more

Five months after leaving to pursue an opportunity outside the radio industry, programmer Cat Thomas is back in the saddle at Beasley Media Group Las Vegas. Thomas started Monday as the Operations Manager for the cluster, as well as PD at “Jammin105.7” KOAS and Digital Program Director for the stations. Tom Calococci, who replaced Thomas in March, has exited. Read more

Reporter Steve Miller is stepping away from full-time duties at Audacy news WBBM Chicago (780) at the end of September, after serving 38 years in the role. Darian Dudrick, morning host at Legend Communications talk KODI Cody, WY (1400), passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Known as “The Voice of Cody,” Dudrick joined the station in 2014 as host of “Daybreak with Darian Dudrick.” He was 52. Read more

Steve Granato returns to Pittsburgh as Group PD for Renda Broadcasting Corp. with day-to-day oversight of AC “Wish 99.7” WSHH. Granato, who has been serving as VP/Programming for the company’s Southwest Florida properties, previously served as PD of WSHH in the early to mid 90s. Read more

Veteran programmer Lenny Diana is named PD/MD of Sarkes Tarzian adult alternative WTTS Indianapolis (92.3), effective Oct. 18. He will also add oversight modern rock sister “Alt 102.3” WGBJ Ft. Wayne. Diana most recently served as OM of Saga classic rock “Rock 102” WAQY and rock “Lazer 99.3” WLZX Springfield, MA. Debra Lew Harder is named host of the Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts, the longest-running classical music program in American radio history, which began 90 years ago in 1931. Harder, who was most recently with Temple University classical WRTI Philadelphia (90.1) is only the fifth person to serve as host.  Read more

Cumulus Media keeps it within the company, naming Steve Dent the new PD of classic rock “92.5 The Fox” WOFX Cincinnati. He succeeds industry veteran Marty Bender, who is stepping down to open up his own consultancy. Public radio veteran Adriene Hill is named Managing Editor of the California Regional Newsroom, a collaboration among KQED San Francisco, KPBS San Diego, KXJZ Sacramento, KPCC Los Angeles/LAist, and KCRW Los Angeles. Hill, who will be based in Los Angeles, has served as the Interim Managing Editor for the past six months.  Read more

Broadcast on Ryman Hospitality country WSM-AM Nashville (650), “The Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree” launched in 1947 by the late Ernest Tubb. Herron began hosting the show in 2004 following the retirement of announcer Carol Lee Cooper.  Read more

Country Radio Hall of Famer Randy Carroll moves to afternoons at iHeartMedia KAJA San Antonio (97.3). Veteran personality “Banana Joe” Montione, best known for his time at the former WFIL Philadelphia, has passed away from natural causes at the age of 67. Montione, who also worked at WILK Wilkes-Barre, PA, WHYI Miami, CHUM Toronto, WLOF Orlando and KHJ Los Angeles, went into station ownership and syndicated his own radio program after working in local radio.   Read more
