Penny Nelson 240

Penny Nelson, who worked at news/talk KQED-FM San Francisco (88.5) for 25 years as a news writer, producer and on-air personality, has died at the age of 57 from brain cancer. Nelson served as a guest host on “Forum” and “The California Report.” She also worked as a literary agent.

“She was a wonderful person, very kind-hearted and literate,” former “Forum” host Michael Krasny told the San Francisco Chronicle. “She was a great utility infielder because she could do everything at the station and was a welcome pinch hitter for me because she was an intellect, well-versed and informed.”
