Rose Ryan-Douglas, afternoon anchor on news/talk KDKA Pittsburgh (1020), is retiring after 45 years in the broadcast industry. Ryan-Douglas started her career at WKPA and WYDD New Kensington and also worked at WFFM and “96 KX” before joining “3WS” WWSW, where she anchored morning news for nearly 20 years. She joined KDKA in 2002.
“Rose has been the ultimate news professional, not only will we miss her on the air but her calming influence in the newsroom is irreplaceable,” Senior VP/Market manager Michael Spacciapolli said in a release. “On behalf of all of us at KDKA Radio and our listeners we thank her for the tremendous work she has done over the years.”
Ryan-Douglas’ last day on the air in Friday, Feb. 26.
