Ten audio programs have been announced as winners of the 2019 Third Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition, which seeks the best audio stories produced worldwide. Since 2001, the competition has awarded non-fiction audio stories found on radio, podcasts and the internet, in seven distinct categories, as well as one standout audio piece, regardless of category, for the Director's Choice award.

Since 2001, the TC/RHDF Competition has celebrated more than 200 stories from four continents and has bestowed $250,000 in cash prizes to innovative producers. Prizes are awarded for the best work in the following categories: Best Documentary, Best New Artist, Radio Impact, Best Serialized Story, Best News Feature, Best Foreign Language and Skylarking. Winners are chosen by a group of judges, who are each experienced makers themselves.
This year’s winners will be celebrated at an awards ceremony Nov. 2 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago, during the closing event of the 2019 Third Coast Conference.
In addition, beginning Nov. 15, PRX outlets will air the “Best of the Best” over radio stations nationwide, beginning on Thanksgiving and through the winter holidays.
