Audioboom has announced a roster of new podcasts as it launched the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s first UK Podcast Upfronts. The week-long event brings together major podcasting brands to “inform, inspire and educate the advertising community.” Said Senior VP of Global Sales & Development Thomas Mancusi, “Audioboom brings a unique advertising proposition to the UK that has been proven across the more mature U.S. market, through billions of dollars of client spend.”
Mancusi and UK Head of Content Mike Newman represented Audioboom in the first of five sessions at Shoreditch Town Hall during the UK Podcast Upfronts, Medium reports. Among new programs are: “Sue Perkins: An Hour or so with…,” which will debut as part of the Audioboom Originals Network on Oct. 10. Perkins invites guests for an intimate chat “about their lives and passions as they strip away formalities and indulge in some good old-fashioned conversation.” And premiering Oct. 31 is “The Greatest Game with Jamie Carragher.” The Liverpool FC legend interviews stars from the sport, alongside a collection of famous non-footballing faces about their lives, asking each interviewee about the greatest game they ever played in or witnessed.
“We’re so excited to be working on these new shows with both Sue and Jamie — each is packed full of engaging entertainment and I can’t wait for people to hear them,” Newman said.
Meanwhile, as Audioboom continues to grow in the UK market, it announced the promotion of Shaun Wilson to UK Head of Sales. He will focus on facilitating opportunities for major brands to connect with audiences through host endorsements and live reads from the UK’s strongest podcasting talent.
