Salem Media Group has appointed Chicago programmer Marcus Brown to a lead role on the just-launched Salem Podcast Network. “Excited to be a part of the launch of Salem Media Group’s new podcast network. It’s been a long time in the making, but it’s finally off the ground,” said Brown in a post on LinkedIn. He is currently the Director of Content Strategy for the company’s Chicago radio stations and program director for news-talk “AM 560 The Answer” WIND and religious “AM 1160 Hope For Your Life” WYLL. Brown joined Salem in 2006 and previously served as an executive producer at Cumulus Media news/talk WLS (890).
The Salem Podcast Network launched this week in what Phil Boyce, Salem’s Senior VP of Spoken Word, said was a “natural extension” of the Salem brand. The Salem Podcast Network, which looks to capitalize on the content its team of conservative talk hosts creates.
Salem’s first podcast partner in this new venture is Dinesh D’Souza, a nationally known political commentator, author, and provocateur. His new podcast “Pardon Me!” will debut Jan. 11.
Other potential hosts are expected to come from the Salem Radio Network ranks. Salem is the broadcast radio syndicator of conservative talk with hosts like Hugh Hewitt, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Charlie Kirk, Sebastian Gorka, Larry Elder, Eric Metaxas, and Dan Proft.
