Bill Leff and Wendy Snyder have spent the past quarter century on Chicago radio, most recently paired in late mornings on talk WGN (720). But the duo was dismissed in November by new owner Nexstar Media Group after a seven-year run at the station. Now Cumulus Media’s rival talk outlet WLS (890) is picking up Leff and Snyder – not for an on-air show but rather for a podcast.
“We are excited to grow our digital brand with Bill and Wendy, two talented and entertaining Chicago radio veterans,” said WLS Program Director Stephanie Tichenor in the announcement. Each episode of the Bill and Wendy Show podcast will run about one hour. The station hasn’t said whether it plans to air the podcast or whether the show is a transition to an on-air position on WLS.
Before joining WGN in 2013, Leff and Snyder previously hosted evenings together at the former classic rock “97.9 The Loop” WLUP-FM and mornings at alternative “Q-101” WKQX in the 1990s.
