Six months after the digital audio advertising network Targetspot announced it was launching a new podcast ad marketplace, the company says it’s seeing “tremendous growth” in digital audio advertising. In response, Targetspot is ramping up its presence in the Southeast and opening a new office in Atlanta.
Targetspot says the new Atlanta office will be dedicated to offer additional support to brands and agencies in the region. It has recruited Joshua Sermons to become the company’s first Sales Director for the Southeast. Sermons has more than 20 years of experience in audio advertising, most recently as a VP of sales at Katz Radio Group.
“I’m excited to join a growing company that looks to connect this ever-moving consumer with creative, one-to-one marketing solutions,” Sermons said in the announcement. “Digital audio has become an integral part of our everyday routine. Tech advancements—from smart speakers and connected devices, to in car, and mobile—have truly made ‘audio everywhere’ a reality.”
Targetspot launched a podcast ad marketplace in December connecting podcast publishers with advertisers throughout North America and Europe. The Podcast Marketplace utilizes the company’s proprietary technology, including Shoutcast, Winamp and Targetspot Passport. Advertisers will be able to buy pre-roll and instream audio through programmatic connections to major demand-side platforms and through direct buys.
