“Will & Grace” star Megan Mullally and her actor husband Nick Offerman are inviting famous people into their bed for candid conversations. Toronto rock DJ “Fearless” Fred Kennedy reaches for the stars in a new sci-fi and fantasy podcast. And there’s a new music podcast that is a documentary series on classic albums, told by the people who made them. Here’s some of what’s new this week in podcasting:
In Bed with Nick & Megan is a new Earwolf comedy network show by husband-and-wife Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally. The interview podcast will have the actors cozying up with their famous friends with a funny, revealing, and very candid look into their relationship and observations on life at large. First season guests include Bill Hader, Retta, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, Lisa Kudrow, and Nick Kroll. The show debuts Dec. 2 on Stitcher.
Issue Zero is a new sci-fi and fantasy podcast from Curiouscast, the podcast network created by Canadian broadcaster Corus Entertainment. In Issue Zero, rock “Q-107” CILQ-FM Toronto radio personality and comic book creator ‘Fearless’ Fred Kennedy will be dedicated to all things comics, superheroes, fantasy and sci-fi. The podcast will explore the aforementioned fandoms which used to get him beat up in school but are now considered the coolest.
Ricksplained is a new seasonal podcast from New Rockstars, set to coincide with the start of the fourth season of Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” TV series. Each episode features host Eric Voss and guests from the hit show to help explain the secret deeper meanings and whether or not those meanings are intentional. Ricksplained will also be simulcast to the New Rockstars YouTube channel, which has 2.3 million subscribers. The show’s ad sales duties are being handled by Podcast Ad Reps.
Gaslight is a new narrative podcast from QCode that is releasing its full 10-episode series starting Nov. 18 and dropping a new episode every day. It says the full series will be available for binge-listening over the Thanksgiving holiday. The series, written and directed by Miles Joris-Peyrafitte, tells the story of a woman believed missing until she began leaving messages on her parent’s answering machine and posting photos on Instagram. It stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Kelsey Asbille, Taran Killam, John Gallagher Jr., Amandla Stenberg, Chris Ellis and Penelope Ann Miller.
Life of the Record, a new music podcast, is a documentary series on classic albums, told by the people who made them. Produced by Dan Nordheim, some artists that are participating include Sigur Rós, The Walkmen, and Jolie Holland. Each episode features the artist looking back on a significant anniversary and sharing stories about how each song and the record as a whole came together.
Food Actually is a new podcast from Luminary that offers a narrative exploration of what it is about food that really, truly matters. Hosted by chef and food journalist Tamar Adler, the Pushkin Industries-created podcast bills itself as a “revisionist history for food.” Pushkin Industries co-creator Malcom Gladwell will make several appearances on the show.
Illegal Tender is a new podcast from Yahoo Finance. The show, hosted by Yahoo writer Ethan Wolff-Mann and Vanity Fair contributor Bethany Mclean, explores the mysterious death of fracking business tycoon Aubrey McClendon. Yahoo says the entire series of episodes will be published this month to be made available for binge listening.

On the show she’ll talk to innovators redefining what good design really means in the physical spaces we encounter every day.
One To Grow On is a farming podcast that brings Navajo voices to the forefront as they discuss food sovereignty. Hosts Hallie Casey and Chris Casey interview Navajo activists and farmers about food sovereignty on the reservation. The Austin-based podcast digs into questions about agriculture and tries to understand how food production impacts us and our world.
My Indian Life, the BBC World Service podcast, rolls out its second season. Hosted by Kalki Koechlin, the Bollywood actor and podcast presenter will have ten new episodes, each telling a story about being young and Indian in the 21st Century. That includes stories about conflict, art, success, adversity, heroism and sexuality. The new season launches Nov. 23.
