EmpireStreaming has announced that its podcast statistic metrics have become the latest to be certified by the IAB Technology Lab. The company’s Analytics & Reporting Manager gives audio publishers comprehensive statistics about their audience, with multi-dimensional reporting by date range, show name, episode name, location, and more. It joins the list of a dozen companies that have so far completed the IAB Tech Lab’s certification program.
“This certification means a lot for our company and our future growth in the podcasting space,” CEO Jon Stephenson said in the announcement. “We are excited to adopt these guidelines and provide consistent metrics to our growing list of publishers.” Pittsburgh-based EmpireStreaming provides a full suite of tools and services for digital audio publishers including AM/FM simulcast, pure play, and podcasts.
The IAB released its version 2.0 measurement guidelines in Dec. 2017. The goal was to address a lack of uniformity in measurement systems and metrics by creating strict rules as the basis of certification, including downloads, listens, advertising delivery and play, and an agreed-upon set of metrics and their meanings. The metrics include podcast downloads, impressions, and listeners.
