Another radio show no longer on the air may be revived as a podcast. Kim “The Kimmer” Peterson, Pete Davis and Jim Gossett, who previously hosted afternoon drive on Cumulus Media’s “Talk 106.7” WYAY Atlanta before it was sold, are working to launch a $5.99 per month subscription podcast. In a Facebook post the team is asking the show’s fans whether they’d be willing to pay for a show. “It’s a huge help and one step closer to the full show coming back soon,” they wrote.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s media reporter Rodney Ho says working in hosts’ favor is the fact that their fans are “a fervent lot.” Davis told him they hope to attract at least 4,000 subscribers in order to produce the amount of revenue needed to make the production of a daily 90-minute show worthwhile.
The WYAY version of the show came to an end in early June after Cumulus Media sold the radio station as part of a six-station deal with religious broadcaster Educational Media Foundation valued at $103.5 million.
