Just in time for this week’s Podfront presentations in Los Angeles, Kellie Rasberry is rolling out a new podcast based on a hit morning show segment. “Love Letters to Kellie,” the 21st century audio equivalent of Dear Abby, has become a popular segment on the syndicated “Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.” Now Rasberry and her longtime producer, Robert Ehrman, are adapting the segment for podcasting.
“Robert and I have been working on this project for quite some time and I’m so excited that we finally get to share it with the world,” Rasberry said in the announcement. “While we’ll be having a lot of fun on this podcast, I realize people are trusting me to give them advice that can often have serious consequences. I don’t take that lightly.”
The podcast will rely on a simple format of Ehrman reading letters from listeners, and Raspberry, who joined the show on “106.1 Kiss-FM” KHKS Dallas about 25 years ago, dispensing advice. Topics range from a teenager dealing with a first crush, a single person struggling to find love online, or a spouse hoping to save a crumbling marriage.
In addition to reading the letters, Ehrmanwill ask follow-ups and provide a measure of comic relief. “We will laugh a little, learn a little, and I am sure cry a little… with most of the crying about my own failed relationships,” said Ehrman.
“Love Letters to Kellie” will publish Wednesday mornings, starting Feb. 12 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Google Podcasts and other podcast services.
Rasberry was honored with the 2019 MIW Airblazer Award at the 31st Annual Talentmasters Morning Show Bootcamp last year in Chicago. She also co-hosts the weekly podcast, “A Sandwich and Some Lovin’” with her husband, Allen Evans.
